I have posted a few threads about my experience with Diamond Billiards. And hopefully it will All Be Finished Tomorrow... I got the call yesterday that my New 9ft Pro-Am will be delivered Wednesday. And let me tell you I CAN'T WAIT!!
I have the Original Tournament Used table with 4 1/2 in pockets and they play a little loose. The table I am getting will have 4 1/4 in pockets.

If you want to read the whole story please look up my username because I don't know how to save links..

Let us know how those pockets play. I recently had my Gold Crown "diamondized." The sub-rails were extended and the pockets reduced from 5-1/2 and 5-1/8 to 4-3/8 and 5.00. The shelf is 1-1/4. The thing is - there is hardly any rattling going on with these pockets.

The facings are very hard on the corners. If a ball hits a point head on, no matter what the angle, it hits the other point and goes nowhere in the direction of the hole. If it hits just a fraction in on the facing, it immediately drops. I might be wrong, but it drops so swiftly that I'm convinced it would still drop if the shelf was 2 inches.

I wouldn't want to change them. I want to be able to watch the pro's and compare and contrast my pocketing ability with them and I think they're mostly playing with 4-1/2 inches, but I sometimes think with the non - rattling aspect, they should be a tad tighter. Maybe 4-1/4 is the answer.

Congratulations. Is it a one piece our three piece slate? Any logistical hurdles to cross getting it set-up? I talked to diamond and a one piece slate is pretty gigantic, need a walkout basement or large opening to get it into the house.

But was also told there way of merging the three piece slate and makes it work like a one piece when it comes to leveling. Great company and always willing to talk details.

We are building a house, and I'm specifically planning the basement around the pool tables, and yes, that's tables plural.

Yea its the One Piece slate. I have two storm doors that it will go through.. What tables are you planning to put in your basement? I was thinking about buying a Barbox to put in the same room as my Big table.. but as of right now I am putting up an Old School Bar Box champion Eugene Browning.

I currently have a 9 foot gold crown in my basement. And I never want to get rid of it. I've had it for six years now. But in the new house, I really want a diamond 5 x 10. The last time I talked to them, they are designing a three piece ten foot table for homes. So to have both of them is kind of excessive but what the heck, the basement is going to be 1800 square feet, why not. So when friends are over, one table could be for playing, the other for warming up. Our house build is a year away, so this is all still in the works. But it's my goal.

And I'm putting a double width door/ stairs in the garage to get down into the basement, already thinking ahead about moving tables, slates, treadmill, etc etc.

Shows us some photos when you have the table up and running

I sure will post pictures of the install and everything

We play so much bar table pool here it would almost pay for me to have both..

Always nice to know there are some real pool nuts out there, like me.
I have a beautiful 9' Pro-Am with 4.25" pockets, customized by Donny Wessels. In this house alone in the last ten years, I've gone through a Brunswick Gipson, a Gold Crown IV and now the Diamond. I haven't been playing much lately, but that table ain't going anywhere! I have had a table in my homes going back over 20 years now. :D

Jay,
My Parents and i own 3 houses on the same block, 2 Thiers 1 mine.. When I was a teenager they built a cynder block room 20x20 with a bathroom big enough for a 9 ft. Since then it has been converted into an apartment, then a shed., AND NOW BACK TO A POOL ROOM. I pay them $100 a month to let me keep the table in there.. I also collecting antique billiard equipment and every new Gimic that comes out.

POOL NUT I THINK SO!!

I just posted a thread with pictures of my pool room.

Browning is living with you?

Is he using his own name? How is he playing these days? He set up camp in my old poolroom in the late 90s and couldn't make 4 balls in a row for the first month, then something clicked and he played jam-up.

I still have his $50 and I still don't wanna jack it up.:D

Just ordered my 9 ft pro-am yesterday with he 9 ft light. I can't wait!!

Congrats on your table!!

Jay, what was the standard pocket size on the table? Or was it customized to get 4.25" pockets? Also, was it tournament used our new? I'm still up in the air on that because, I really dig the idea of a tournament used table. It's kind of like blessing the table with greatness before it finds its final spot in the basement. That's also why I purchased a set of aramith pros from the turning stone classic a couple of years back. Maybe through osmosis, Johnny, Shane or Thorsten skill could rub off onto my cue. Still waiting for that to happen. :o

Congrats on your new Diamond 9 foot Table. You'll have a lifetime of enjoyment on that beauty.

One of friendly Kansas Cue makers has passed away & his like NEW 7 foot Diamond Smart Table is for sale... $4500.00. Delivery is a conversation away from happening. Depends on your location.
