i was wondering how much the weekly match dues are because my operator has went up $1 dollar a match for the last two years in a row.
 
wow over 30 bucks?? Reckon I cant complain bout mine lol.......used to be 5 bucks jumped to $6 2 sessions ago
 
They're talking about the TEAM fee...which works out to $6 or $7/player. APA L.O.'s can charge whatever they want for weekly fees. There are guidelines suggested by APA, but the local L.O. can fix the weekly fee at whatever they choose.

I Quit Playing APA Years Ago

I think the player fee per week is $6, and if I'm not mistaken...it's $50 to put a team into the league.

I think APA is a ripoff

$35/week in Austin...although I quit APA a long time ago...the BCA and TAP leagues in this area pay out much more of the weekly fees to the players than the APA does. I understand APA is a business so they have to keep more of the money but I prefer the leagues that give more back to the players...and they seem to be more competitive than the APA leagues.
 
$35 in Huntsville. It was $6 for a long time. Been at $7 for at least 2.5 years.

But....keep in mind that the winner of APA gets room and entry paid, at least for our league.
Back to fees, in Tucson we pay $30 for 3 man master team.
 
Depending on the area/venue, some of that weekly match fee may well be going to the venue as a green fee. It's just rolled into one fee per player for the night to keep it simple.

My old league in Colorado, for a long time it was $5/night. The bar would open up the tables for us for match play (not for warmups though). Then after a while, the bar owner decided he wanted a bit for opening those tables, so now each player had to pony up an extra dollar which went right to the bar.

Could be that the places around the country are doing something similar, except saying to the LO "you just collect it and then pay us a lump sum every week/month/whatever". *shrug*

And beyond that - consider our economy. Is it any surprise that a league fee goes up now and again? To expect a league fee to remain where it is forever is pulling the wool over one's own eyes.
 
It's been $6 a person, $30 a team here in Burbs of Chicago but just heard that it went up as of this session to 7/35 :(

I got my start in APA about a year and a half ago and have already begun to distance myself from the league. I've discovered that TAP is a great league here in Dallas and am thinking about getting into BCA soon enough.

I find that the draw of a free trip to Vegas really brings out the worst in people! Sandbagging is rampant and unstoppable and the level of play is simply not consistent because of it. I prefer a league where local play is competitive all the time.

Although, there is always that draw of a free trip to Vegas... hehehehehe :grin-devilish:
 
ne14tennis...You're mistaken! There is NO fee to put a team into any APA league. That is strictly forbidden in the APA.
