Ginacue....

I recently received a gift of a Ginacue as a result of the death of a friend. I am not an expert pool player, but enjoy the game. Any recommendations as to what I should do with the cue? ...that is, should I use it to enhance my game or put it up in a safe place for retirement? :) Just curious if anyone has any thoughts on the matter. Thanks. - kag_11

How do you play, is the cue a steel or ivory joint. There is no doubt that a Gina among other top cues will enhance anyones game, maybe not much at all but any is better than none.

I would suggest you keep the cue, play with it, enjoy it....and with every stroke, think kind thoughts of your departed friend.

Used it! Play pool with it no matter what your speed is, that what it was made for, not a investment. (my opnion) Pool cues are not good bet to use your 401K money, to invest in cues. Very few cues really go up in value.

This is exactly how I feel too! Great cues, by great cuemakers, are made to be played with. Enjoy the cue...take good care of it (don't leave it laying around the bar or poolroom), and definitely do think nice thoughts about your friend, who is now hopefully playing with the greats in heaven!

Keep it, use it if you can afford to, i dont mean to be insulting but these days with $$ being so tight sometimes we have to do things we dont want to. Sorry about your friend, I have had some cues over 2o years for senemental reasons, a few times I almost had to sell them. I managed to hang on to all of them over the years-I'm sure glad I did. A cue is a very personal thing and when its from a deceased friend that's something special,

IMO your friend (or his estate's caretaker), probably intended for his possessions to be given to someone that would care for them in the same manner he did.

In other words, if he played with the cue, he would expect you to play with it too. If he kept it stored away for occasional viewing, he would expect you to tuck it away too.

JMHO & YMMV
