Hey Tina, keep your head up. You're there for a reason. ARM

Unfortunately the "Breck Hair Girl" didn't take off the event. I met her briefly and didn't get a chance to talk with her after things started.

Tina's as pretty as her avatars! And I'm very jealous of the hair!

EXACTLY what Barb says! I agree... If I could only have her hair... or figure... or game... UGH, I've got Tina envy!! ;)

Even though ya'll didn't snap off the tournament, I hope you ladies had fun just the same. :)

Timberly,

It was a great event, no snags or problems at all!! Kelly O is a great tournament director!! And even though Bonnie Coats, Kelly, and myself tried our darndest to keep Regional Tour players to meet up with co-tour players in the the first round with the draw, things had to happen considering the logistics and the amount of players that represented each tour.

Cunningham's was a great venue to play at and the tables played very well. Personally, I nailed some great banks that I just haven't tried in a while.

There's Melinda with all the updates and Mike H is calling like every two hours to be up on the info, so go to the main page!

Despite this small setback, Tina's future remains bright.

A little off topic, the most dominant woman regional player last year in the East was, arguably, Pam Treadway. Was she ineligible to play in this? Didn't see her name in the brackets.

Debbie Schjodt and Bonnie Coats are doing well. I am rooting for Morgan Steinman. I don't know either of the 2 gals left on the winner's side. Good going, Barbara! And better luck next year, Tina, I'm sure you will tear it up on your tour.

SJM,

I contacted her twice by email but she didn't respond. I didn't have a valid phone number (MI area code) to get to her, either.

This should've been her milieu, but I don't know why Pam never responded to the invite. I don't know where she's based right now or why players near her wouldn't let her know about this.

I would've loved to see Pam do this event, too. I'm equally disappointed.

I don't know if Pam has access to a computer but I do know that I kept trying to reach her while I was at the Derby and only found out yesterday that her phone was lost or stolen.

Barbara, should you ever try to reach her and you can't, let me know. If I can't reach her, there's one other person I know of that should be able to. I only just found out about this tournament a couple of days ago. :(

Okay, I know that now.

I think the Regional Tour Coordinator is supposed to extend the invitation to the top 8 finishers in their regional tour. If one of those persons already have spots, then it keeps going on down the list. So she should have been contacted by her RTC in plenty of time.

Looks like Bonnie came through the B side and won the whole thing.

I agree with SJM`s comment and Tina will definitely have bright future.
I am happy for CJ for her runner up position. She appeared to have recovered from her back injury ( Fell off the horse 9-12 months ago).Way to go CJ.
I like Van buren also and I thought that she will come to finals but she did not.It is a shame Pam Treadway was untraceble.

I have to agree with Barbara - it was a great tourny! A great group of gals fighting for the win, lots of good ole friends, and it was fun meeting new poolplayers from the area. I could go on, but I won't.

We all have our days Tina, and you have so much to look forward throughout this year - you are already where most of us are trying to be - so smile and enjoy this time......love every minute of it.

The event was great. I spent some of Saturday and Sunday there. Tina was in great spirits depsite her early exit from the event. She is looking forward to an exciting year on the WPBA Tour this year. It was great to see some friends like Nostroke, Voodoo Daddy - and my bestest friend Carol Clark. It was great event.

hey Blackjack - I didn't realize that was who you were when I directed you to Tina - I would have cornered ya for some pool advice :)

Any woman that played in that event should be proud to call themselves pool players. It was a tough field, matches were close and the sweaters were pleased. Seeing Carol, Barbara and her man, Karen Armstrong, BlackJack and his traveling partner <her name escapes me but her smile is burned in my brain> and meeting others including Nostroke, Gina Lipsky, 9balllvr & Tina "again" <without Fred Agnir prying here away> was nice.

:Disclaimer: The following is my veiw on the play this weekend

Now for the opinionated portion; The Texas girls seemed to put up the best fight other than the Florida ladies...I feel its closer to the way the equipment plays than say for the girls from up north and way out west due to the humidity. Congrats to Bonnie, she is overdue for her shot. Debbie, Jessica & Crystal are only strokes away from greatness and last to Jennifer Lampert...your game is on its way lady, one ball at a time!!

Voodoo~~had fun but back to training for VF

great meeting you as well voodoo daddy, will see you in VF - just a quick note, you mentioned Jennifer Lampert - I assume you meant Amanda Lampert (dark haired - she reminds me of a china doll) - she is from Texas and is a great shot and one sweet gal as well.

Take care.

Its late and the names ran together...your right, I stand corrected :p

Hi everybody...

Thanks for the kind words! I got there feeling good, practiced ok, and then didn't quite get there. It was unfortunate because the game looked really easy that day. I am sometimes worse off when that happens because when I see the patterns and the lines right off, then I go a bit faster than I should. It was ok that I lost, it actually didnt concern me at all. I can't win them all!

It was great meeting Barbara also for the first time. I knew she would be there and tried to get right over to her to introduce myself as soon as she helped finishing the draw. Carol Clark was very nice. I hope to get to know her better this coming year. She has this demeaner that when you are around her, you just want to get to know her better. I got reaquainted with Melinda, and hung out with her almost the entire weekend. I met Amanda Lampert also for the first time. I had read so much about her, and was happy to get to know her better also.

Well that's enough for now. Thanks again...
