Give me your bets $800.00 cue

What are our very own Jack Madden's cues starting at these days? Jack?

Hi Jimmy,

How have you been?

A BEM forearm and butt, 3/8 10 pin, phenolic joint, linen wrap, one shaft, triangle tip, silver ring work at all points (or some type of ring work), custom joint protectors and shipping to US address runs around $550.00. If you want a plain jane with some of the exotic hardwoods it would be a little more. This for 58" with weight around 19oz --- but that can be customed to player.

Nitti or Howard depending on your preference...
That's how I'd go.

Or just wait to save up some more like the others were saying...

Not happy with what you've got now??

Like many of us in the this pool world I would to love to own and play with a couple of these cues.

1. Gus Szamboti
2. Southwest
3. Tim Scruggs
4. Skip Weston
5. Tad

Can anybody tell me a good playin cue for about $800.00 the budget is not here but the dream is...

Giving up on the Josey, eh? I'll give you 150 for it...:D

Yeh, there are scruggs and skips at the 1000 mark. And once in a while a plain jane scruggs is sold and that is usually around 700-850.:) GOod luCk. But if you bump ur budget 100-200 more to the 1000 mark, u are really getting much more.

I just picked up a bender plain jane with leather wrap for about 850. Bluegrass for about 1000 (shipping included). 1000 will really open u up to much more choices , both cuemakers and cue style.

If I had $800 and wanted one of the cues listed, I would keep saving money for another year and then have a better chance of getting one of the cues you listed with $1600 available. Keep checking the forsale forum here, ebay and other cue sites. In my eyes, it's better to wait and save for what you really want, then to settle for something that's not in your heart and soul. But, you may find something in the 800 range that never crossed your mind.

ez

It does not take 1600 dollars to find a cue that you will love...also, it is downright retarded to spend that one a cue that you *may or may not* love...

cue

One of the best deals that I have seen was a bocote Ned Morris basic cue for about $350.00 (shipped). Check the posts and see if it is still available: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=53408 . The cue will hold its value and you can then upgrade if you like the way it hits. I hit with that cue myself, and I thought Ned was selling it under the true value. I am a cue maker and I could not duplicate that cue deal! Best of luck, Kent

I hear lots of good things about Varney, Carmeli, Zylr. I don't know the prices of Zylr but I know that Varney and Carmeli have some great looking cues in that price range.

If a Schon is what you are thinking about, you can get a brand new STL9 on ebay for $525.00 (or very close to it). A very nice looking model

But I have seen several really nice custom cues for sale on here in that price range

I bought a really nice, practically new, unwrapped
1/1 Scruggs with 2 shafts, TS joint protectors,
and a letter from Scruggs stating it was one of a
kind for a little over $900 shipped.
Look around. There's good deals out there.
Also got an older Scruggs SP in excellent
condition for $290.

probably a paul dayton cue will be the best bet
capone nitti or even carmeli
skip weston if u can find one at this range
there is quite a number of options. :)

You can get alot of cue for $800. It depends on what you want. Production cue I would say a schon OLDER, can pick a good one up on Ebay for $800 or less. Coker makes a really good shooting cue, you can get a really nice coker for less than $800. Other cues for under $800 (used)

Ariel Carmeli
Jacoby
Struggs (low end)
Capone (low end used)
Skip Weston (low end)
Just look they are out there.
