Go to DCC for 2 days or buy livestream ?

Now I see why I hardly ever post on this message board. No one even reads anything I post. Accu-stats already does what you describe. It's not something that hasn't been thought up or worked out yet. You go to the Accu-stats table right by the TV table and ask for one of the little recievers and you can hear the commentary as you watch the match. You can bring your own head phones or they have them there.

My bad. I'm going back to read your post.
Thanks!

Does anyone know the cost for renting this device from Accu-Stats that allows you to listen to the commentators while you are sitting in the audience? I am not likely to show up at the DCC this year but others might be interested in knowing.

Now that I think about it, I think some of the people at last year's DCC may have had this device in their ear. I never paid much attention to them and may have thought they were listening to an IPOD....:o

Oh, Isee you posted after my original question...
No worries.

I think Accu-Stats needs some press about this feature.

Yeah I had no idea until last year. I saw some people wearing headphones and I just assumed they were listening to ipods then I figured out it was the match commentary, but I assumed it was only for VIPs or something. Turns out anyone can rent them. I can't remember if I thought the price made it worth it or not.

You know, last year someone may have told me that they were listening to the commentary and I just didn't pay much attention to their statement. (Maybe that's where I got that great idea from.)

It was a 20 hour or so drive for me and almost twice that going back home due to the ice storm a couple years back. The worst drive I have ever made and if I had know it would be that way, knowing what I know now about the DCC I would still have made the trip.

It was by far the best pool tournament experience I have ever had. If you have the chance to go, make every effort to do so.

Although you may want to rest up ahead of time and plan to rest after. In the 6 days I was gone I averaged 3 hours a night at the most. Which really made the drive home even more insane. Still worth it though, and that says a lot.

Now if only they could come up with a device that would teleport you to the live event when you tune in to the stream. :grin-square:

headphones

i believe they had headphones at the recent snooker championship in england.

on the stream you could see people in the audience with these blue thingies on their heads. if i remember correctly, the camera panned to someone in the audience and the announcer said something about him and the guy grinned and gave a big thumbs up.

so ... at dcc when the camera seeks out celebrities, joey can hear his name called out and wave to us peons watching from home.

sunny
