Gold Crown 5 still not right!

Oh, I totally agree with. I’ve played on GC all my life. Played Diamonds too at the local pool hall. I still prefer the GC. Definitely not giving up, just want it done right. Still waiting to hear back from John Burns.

IMO of course, The GC 5 is an amazing pool table! Now, having the wrong guy set it up can simply ruin that.

John Burns is a Brunswick Certified installer and it completely capable of making that table play great. Won't break your warranty and will play correctly.

Even if Brunswick will not pay the difference, who cares?!?! Pay to have it set up properly and you have one of the BEST playing and looking pool tables out there. Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with your purchase, but, dont let a little bit of money ruin it all. I hope this all turns around full circle for you ! Stay positive and good luck!

I hear you loud and clear there and totally agree. Hopefully this will be the last time. I believe in taking pride of your work. Which this is a good example of what not to do. I will continue to keep emailing and texting them daily u til they can resolve this. BBB would be the last resort.

Thanks,

Beautiful table! Hope you get it put right! I've owned a GC4 for over 20 years, and the last time we moved cross country, the moving company handled the packing, moving, and assembly of the table. I allowed them to do this because my company was paying the bill. Unfortunately, I learned my lesson. About a month after the table was set up, balls started rolling off and doing funny things along the rails. The moving company sent their "mechanics" back to "fix" it 2 more times with no success. I finally gave up on them, and found a top local mechanic (Jerimy Chambers) to reassemble the table and put it right. It's played perfectly ever since. I've never regretted spending the money to get the job done right by the right person. I don't think you will either.

Jay mentioned that the GC5 is a good table but I beg to differ. If you can get a GC1 or 2 go for it. The GC5 looks nice but it is very temper mental and does require constant adjustments. They are rarely used in tournament play and very few rooms have GC5's for their equipment They just don't stand up.

If someone wants a new table it’s a 5 or 6. 5’s are rarely used for tournaments as they are expensive and take time to set up. I think the 6’s lost the classic look but it’s still sharp.

When was the last time Brunswick supplied GC's to support a tournament?

So below is what I got from Johnson Fitness... Think she is implying that I moved this 1200lb table in my basement and they state bolts came loose. If the bolts were there in the beginning, would the dust be absent where the bolts made contact with the slate? But from my pictures, there's dust evenly distributed under the slate. I'm assuming they don't wont to come back out to fix this.

Good morning Sovandaro.

I have reviewed the pictures and paperwork with the crew that was there in April. Per the notes on the paperwork and our contact after completion everything was level, tightened and signed off on prior to the crew leaving; therefore I wanted Brunswicks feedback on the issues you mentioned in your prior email.

I was also wondering if the table has been moved or shifted since the last time the guys were there?

Once I get the feedback from Brunswick I will be in touch.

Thank you.

I'm also still waiting to hear back from John Burns. I called, left a message and text him. I have not hear anything back from him, yet.

Don't hold your breath waiting for John, going behind other installers fixing their work is not really what John is in business for.

So, are you saying, just wait for Johnson Fitness to get back to me? Looks like she's waiting to hear back from Brunswick before she'll offer her guys to come out.

Is there another local guy that might be able to help if JF decides its not worth their time?

Thanks,

The problems you're having, is the same problems that most in this industry have coast to coast, it's not uncommon.

Not surprised...nice answer. Sounds like a lawyer or trucking company replying. Move on. Brunswick warranty and customer service stinks...and so do most hackers sent by them. Sadly Johnson Fitness is probably an an authorized Brunswick dealer.

No call? Kiss of death...move on. Don't hear from him now...you won't hear from after if you need recourse. How about Trent from Ohio.... I have not used him...he has good referrels and reputation.

Also... Blatt's Billiards services. Pool tabes are their heartbeat. If not them maybe they will refer.

Thanks for the quick reply and useful information. I will be reaching out to some of the other vendors. Will also be leaving JT bad reviews for future customers. Will also be reaching out to BBB to let them know how this was handled.

Yelps .... flame them accordingly. You are not alone with your situation. As RKC mentioned ..... its a typical problem.

When the second guy came out did he remove the rails and cloth and re-level the slates or just make adjustments to the original set up? What type of flooring is the table on? Take a pic of a side pocket from the top so we can see how they finished the pocket. Was it a brand new table or a showroom model?

Yes, this was a brand new table. Paid $10,500 + $350 for the Simnonis cloth. When the second set of guys came out, two of them, they took the felt off, re-did the seams where the slate met. Before when shooting, you can see the ball skip over the joints where he put bondo. He did remove the rails as well, but I don’t ever recalling him laying down and working further towards the center of the table from the bottom. The table is in the basement on carpet, plush, so I assumed it was because of that, the table originally shifted. But seeing how the table is rolling now, I’m thinking those 8 support bolt/screws were never tighten and over looked. Why the balls keep curving towards the center of the table. I will snap a few pix of the pockets.

Here are some pix, One is from a corner pocket that looks like it was glued to keep the rubber in place. Sloppy work which got on my felt...

See from pix #2 and #4, When the guys tried to adjust the felt after they redid the seams for the slate, they pulled it so tight that it doesn't hug the curve of the pockets. where the curve is, its very tight with space between the felt and slate...

The more pix I take of the the table, the more issues I find. I feel like i got jipped... Having inexperience installer install my table. The local pool halls have tables that rolls better than mine...

Again, you are kinda stuck with the chain of sale for a while. Hopefully they get it right, coz if you don't give them first chance to deal with your complaints, they might try to skip out on their end of the deal.

Some might claim it isn't the best table out there, but is sure as hell is arguably top 2. It should play perfectly. End of story.

I don't think there is anything wrong with you reminding them you purchased a premium item at an according price and you know it should play perfectly. Therefore, you expect it will be perfect in the short term future or you will expect them to reimburse you for the cost you incur finding someone who has the ability to actually put the thing together correctly.

I know it is torture, bit maybe give them a month or 2 or 6.

Also, night be worth it for your next escalation be to eliminate the seller and deal directly with Brunswick. Guaranteed you aren't the first person to inform Brunswick the lawn furniture people aren't skilled enough to put the puzzle together right.

I used to work for Brunswick's many-concurrent-year top retailer. Those guys work all week putting shit together. Honey badger don't give a fukc.
