Gold Crown Journey

The Journey Continues...

Well my table was delivered. UGH! Talk about heavy!

Well it was pretty much appart, but I did get all of the pieces off that I wanted to get powdered coated.

(4) feet
(6) pocket castings
(2) counters (taken apart)
(2) bridge holder (currently chrome)
(1) ball holder frame

They looked pretty bad and the guy I took them to said the castings look like they had been painted at least one time before....

He said that these will will be completed by Saturday, and I plan on posting pictures.

Guys -

More questions. But first thanks to all for the help.

The metal rail that goes all around the table. Remember, it is a GC III.

Can you take that metal rail off easily?

Thanks again.

Ken

they are nailed in. with a small flat head screw driver, and some patience, you can dig the nails out and remove those rails. i did it to my gcIII.

Any updates? Would love to see some pictures...

Table done - welcome to the mancave!

All -

I paid $500 to get new Simonis cloth, covered and assembled. During the install there was a mismash of parts and bolts. ALL new bolts installed. One thing to notice is the powder coated parts. He put a clear with a metal flake in it to really set it off. It is suttle, but with a little flash!

This is the mancave.

Any other questions?

Hanging on the wall

Ken-terrific room!!

Quick question-Is that square 'checkers board' with the net pockets a 'caroms board'?

IIRC growing up we played 'caroms' on a board like that at the 'boys club'. We used short sticks -maybe 3 feet long (without tips) to shoot at wooden donuts and pocket them in the corners.

We used to get 'two fingers' separation off the edge to allow a shot at the edge of the 'cb' donut.

Thanks for sharing pictures of your very nice room. Additional thanks for triggering some good growing-up memories.

Take care

Ken, I see you managed to snag a Diamond style triangle. Did you buy it direct from them?

I bought the racks from a guy in Indiana who makes them from scratch.

His name is Everett Snow, but I dont have a contact number.

I think I paid $10 each for them.

Cheap enough.
