Gold Cup table

Gold Crown exact imitation?

I have a Gold Cup, which I'm told is an exact imitation of the Gold Crown II.

I thought the OLIO table was the Gold Crown Knockoff??? It at least looks like a Gold Crown.

I don't have the skills needed to post the link so I deleted it but the Olio table IS an exact imitation Gold Crown, at least in looks anyway.

Here you go. Those sure look good, even have the stamped logos in the corner castings.

"finished" the table last night. didn't nail in the pockets yet though, b/c might end up redoing the sides since they came out smaller than i planned.

Sorry, but this table as pictured...should be posted in the hackwork thread, as this kind of tightening of the pockets is unrealistic when it comes to playing pool;) I can't believe anyone would even want to play pool on this table....other than the owner of the table;)

I've never seen anything quite like it. I realize you want to make the table demanding but IMO you have gone off the deep end. I personally think it would take you a week to run a rack if ever. Sorry, its your table and more power to you.

The table didn't come out perfect, no doubt. The side pockets came out tighter than i wanted at 3.5", I wanted them to be 4" and I don't like how they look either. I must apologize to you and any other highly skilled experienced table mechanics out there that would have done a much better job. This is my first time making such a tight setup, and it definately didn't come out perfect. I'm trying here, and I think I'll do better next time. Thanks for the encouragement, though.

You're right, I will hardly ever get anyone to come over to play pool at my house. The thing is - nobody ever came to my house to play before...

I'm fine practicing on it the way it is for a month or so, then I'll redo the sides. In the meantime, the pockets are tough, no doubt. You know what though, I'm adjusting. My accuracy has improved a lot in just a week. My focus never drops off, I never go into "cruise control" for the last couple shots in an out.

I think Earl would love this table with the tight tight tight pockets lol ;) .

I'm sure he will have a more favorable view than most ppl on here. I'll let you know in a month or so, not sure when he'll be in town next. Maybe I'll try to fix the side pockets before then, tho!

i would like to thank the mechanics on here that helped give me information, as the table does play great. the artemis rails play super. the rail extensions were definately the way to go, granted i still need to fix a few things, as was kindly pointed out for me.

I had a hard time getting the felt folded nicely over the rail extensions, but oh well I'm more concerned with how it plays, and it really does play well.

760 is very fast compared to the championship tour edition 3030 that was on before, I'll have to be sure to do some drills where I'm moving the cue a lot or I might forget how to play english/deflection when hitting it firm...

umm, i thought about it because the shelf is little smaller compared to a diamond table, but instead i just made the corner's a little tighter to make up for it, so that's why i did it 3.75" instead of 4". in hindsight, I probably could have made it 3.875 and it would have worked out to be plenty tight for my taste.
