I have no idea why this idea popped in my head, but for whatever reason I think it could look really cool.

Has anyone ever heard of this? better yet, have pics?

thanks in advance.

Gold plated collars have been done. I know Joss Ltd. did it. I'm sure others have.

Gold

My name is Gary Bloomberg (Shane VanBoenings grandfather, and mentor)and I do gold plating . I have just finished plating a new BMW,insigneas and grill. My Cadi is gold every place there was chrome and it Looks real cool.
I have gold plated many cue joints infact my cue has black hills gold inlays
with diamond and ruby insets.
thought you might want to know your idea is not at all outrageous.

Thank you very much for that info. If you happen to have any pictures available, I would love to see them!

Can I ask for a rough quote on a job like that? Purity of metal isn't as important as looks and durability I'd say. Can't imagine that it'd effect the hit...right? haha

gold plated ss joint

i saw one from asheville, nc area on a schon cue. the owner's brother was a jeweler and had plated the joint for him. it looked different but frankly not anything spectacular. maybe several more layers would have made a difference but plating on this cue was not very thick. as i recall the Joss cues with plated joints were very high quality.

If anyone has pics, or could photoshop it that would be awesome.

(I'm trying to jazz up a STL-1 I've got.)

thanks!

solid gold

if you go to the cue gallery and search, 3 oz gold, there are photos of a cue i just finished, its not gold plated, its solid gold i used over 3 oz of gold in this cue. chuck starkey
