...and plan on visiting Hammerhead's, Capone's and Strokers.
Anyone know if these places have weekly tournaments?

Last time I was there I went to a place called CM's Place. The owner CM Lee was playing Howard Vickory and given him all he wanted.

His place seemed really nice, and while I was on vacation, I played there often.

Ray Martin played out of there, I think too.

Worth checking out IMO.

inside english...Capone's is quite a ways from Clearwater. There's a relatively new room (open a year), called Crooked Cue. It's two blocks north of the intersection of Rte. 19 and Ulmerton Blvd., in Clearwater. Nice room, good equipment, and they have tournaments 2-3 nights a week. The owners are really nice folks too!:D

I called them up and they had a tournament for lower-level players only, no A or strong B players, which left me out...:)

Stroker's has tourneys on Mon/Wed, and Capone's on Tue.
Capone's is only 50 miles from my hotel so I will definitely be checking that out.
Thanks for all the info.
I think I'll stroll on down to Crooked Cue at least to see it.

hope that helps you out. i was checking out the same thing yesterday since my day moved to Tampa last week.

Those links for Strokers are really old, on Monday nights they actually have an 8ball tournament and Wednesday is still 9ball. I will be at Strokers tonight playing some straight pool (straight pool league starting tonight).
