I've been playing in the banks at Greg's tournaments for a few years. My wife and I always enjoy meeting and making new friends at these well run events. We tend to remember and post about the misdeeds instead of the good. I wanted to post something about some good folks I met at the tournament.
I walked in to the tournament and started watching a guy that was playing one hole with Effren. Watched them for a while and then started practicing. Come time for the players meeting and draw. I had to go back to the hotel. Something I ate at breakfast wasn't agreeing with me. I got awful sick. My Wife had to stay to find out who I was playing. Well, I got the guy that was playing Effren. Rob Hart was his name. My Wife called an let me know I was playing at 2pm. I rushed back to hear the director announcing that I'm on time. Rob said he was sorry that he had to let em know I was late. I said no problem, I would have done the same. We shook, lagged and started. After the first game I broke out in a cold sweat and had to have a bathroom break. I will spare you the details, but I was gone a long time. Long enough that I expected to have forfeited when I got back. There Rob sat very patiently. I apologized and he said no worries. I just want people to know that there are plenty of good folks out playing our sport. No, Rob didn't cure cancer single handedly. He just treated me the way he would have liked to be treated, and I wanted to acknowledge Rob doing a good thing. Thanks Rob!

Hats off to Rob Hart. Really nice to see a positive post instead of all the negativity that is so common anymore.

His brother is an awesome comedian to Kevin hart you might of heard of him

Good story. There are a ton of dick wads out there and something like this brings back the faith in people. You are lucky that you met one of the good guys.

Remember and pay it forward.

Oh, I know about upset tummys. Take her easy on the Tabasco on your eggs in the morning if you are playing and you will be ok.

Let me know if I hit the nail on the head. I love hot but have to be careful of when and what time of the day I indulge.

So, you're a run-out player?

Glad to know everyone in the pool world isn't a scumbag.

OP, did I meet you at Rusty's a while back when I was donating to Lance?

There are more out there. My first tournament on the Seminole Mens Pro, my first match I drew the guy who won the tour that year. I forget his name. A very nice fellow. He and I were quietly playing along. I was at the table and I noticed that on every table around us, both players were at the table arguing about something. I stopped and walked over to my opponent and said "You know. I think you and I are the two most polite players in this room". He looked back at me and said "You and I are the only polite players in this room". :D

Rob Hart likes pool more than anyone I ever saw in my life..ha ha thay dude kever stops playing..He used to have a pool hall but sold it a couple years ago..and yes his brother is a funny ass dude .

that's great mike there is a few good guys out there hope you are feeling better one day to come down and play some banks with you take care:thumbup:

That's a nice story but it left me with a feeling similar to the last episode of The Sopranos.

Who won?
Sorry about that. 3 to 1 Rob. I won the first game, but I don't think I made a ball after that. Rob had me on the rail the rest of the match.

No hot sauce, but it was eggs that I think was my undoing. Good advice!
