Gorst vs Orcullo??

If Dennis get that thru.. he would be freerolling 10-ball. He know he wins one pocket and have good chance on 10-ball. Nice trap for Fedor but i think he will notice it.

Dennis wants a piece of Shane but not of Fedor? That is some mad crazy respect for Fedor right there. Fedor is definitely turning some heads in the world of pool.

Dennis said he would play Fedor the same way he’s playing Shane. Nine ball on the spot, no checking the rack. He said he will only play Fedor 10 ball with 4”pockets. Or if they play 10 ball on regular pockets then Fedor has to play him one pocket even.

This is somewhat reminiscent of when Efren Reyes gambled a couple of times with three cushion legend Torbjorn Blomdahl. They would play eight ball and then three cushion. At the time, Blomdahl's average at three cushion was about 1.75 while Efren's was about .95, so Efren had virtually no shot at billiards. Blomdahl, however, was a ridiculously straight shooter who played eight ball rather well, so, even against the greatest eight ball player of all time, this match was a free roll for him, and he did manage to beat Efren at eight ball on at least one occasion.

I'm kind of looking at it like this. Shane has dibs on a rematch over a first time match with Fedor. That's all I see anyway.

That would make it an even game. Orcollo favored in one pocket and Gorst favored in 10 ball although I believe Orcollo has a better chance of winning at 10 ball than Gorst at one pocket.

I'd like to see Fedor play the 10 ball and Filler play the 1pckt. Dennis is real brave asking Fedor to play a game he doesn't play

Yes, especially since Fedor's chances of winning a one pocket race of any real length against Orcullo is near zero.
 
This is called "Matching Up" for the uninitiated. It's a common occurrence when two players are trying to make a money game. Rarely do they just say "flip a coin and let's go." We have all seen this scenario before many times. EVERYTHING is up for discussion. The table, the cloth, the balls, the rack, the format for the match, what games they will be playing and how much will they bet. And a whole lot more (handicap, odds). I will not criticize a player for trying to make a game that favors them in some way. That's Pool!

If he wants action he is going to have to adapt. Efren didn't play one pocket either until he found out he could make a lot of money at it and then he became the best.

Sounds to me like there is an easy solution here, since Fedor will not play 1 pocket for sure and probably also 10 ball on 4" pocket, why wouldn't they play two sets of 9 ball on spot and 10 ball with regular pockets, one is what Orcollo wants, other is what Fedor wants, both are satisfied. Also it would be cool if both were races to 100 ;)
