I forced myself to the pool room yesterday with my backache, it hurt like hell, I have tried this before and I couldnt play, Right when I walked in a 71 year old player came in I wont mention his name but he is well known-he is a strong player and is fit as hell for his age. He asked me to play. Last time I hit a ball was over 2 weeks ago and played bad, we agreed to play 10 ball by the game real cheap, on a tough Diamond table. I only had an hour to play and had the worst of it,
I played good not great, the rolls evened out, first game i was running out from the 3 and got corner hooked on the 10, i was never ahead, but I ended up playing just over an hour because the momentum was swinging my way and I was 6 game loser, it might sound bad but I did mis a 9 ball once and had 2 other chances to win which would have made it closer, i know 6 behind in 70 minutes isnt great but I had the worst of it and as we kept playing I kept playing better, I cant beat him, but he has to work to win. I might have got it back to even or close to it.
It isnt often I lose and feel good about it,
When I was younger and a stronger player-because I played more often in that situation I would have had the nerves etc and probably lost alot more games, now that i'm 40 my mind is quite and if a caught a bad roll it didnt get to me, when he got a roll it didnt get to me. I was playing the balls not the player-I have known that forever but now I can do it.
