Got my new Schmelke in today!

That is really super nice. Love the points and veneers, and very nice looking inlays. I think a nicely figured BEM forearm would make that cue look so much nicer though.

George Balabushka would disagree.

Great looking cue and what a value!!!

I think that straight-grain maple makes the veneers pop.

enjoy!

My rosewood sp has straight-grain maple and it plays great. Just put a Ultra-skin hard on it and now its even better. 140bux delivered. Unreal deal on a cue.

For $360 I may have to try one out. Great looking cue!

How does it play?

I thought something Schmelkeed in here.
Just kidding. It's a beautiful cue, and I really like the 'Old School' look.
Have fun with it. :thumbup2:

Birds eye maple doesn't appeal to me in a cue what so ever. Rather see a heavy crowned flat sawn white maple or a curly maple over birds eye.

Great value for that cue

Are Schemlke's stiff hitting cues?
Compared to what? Tough to answer. Stiffer than a Meucci and more flexible than a Southwest, hows that? My sp has a 12.75mm, 29" shaft that hits, IMO, great. Its pro-tapered, probably 10", and has just the right amount of flex. Just order one, for the money you can't really go wrong. Sell it if you don't like it. Doubt that will happen.

Beautiful cue you got there!!! Thats probably a clone to what I would have ordered. Ebony=check
multi-colored veneers=check
not overly loaded with inlays=check
last but definitely not least=a finished cue in 3 weeks for under $400, astounding!!!!!
Way to go Schmelke!!!!

I'm sure you could have one made that is stiff hitting, if you liked it that way. The beauty of Schmelke cues to me are that you can order it the way you want (joint, pin, taper, wood, ferrule, wrap, tip, and length) and let them know what you are looking for and they can make it for you, without breaking the bank.

I like a softer hit with some feel so I go with the 3/8x10 pin wood to wood. This cue won't ever leave my house. I love it!

I have a 4 point/4 veneer lightly inlaid cue with deco rings coming from Schmelke. Rosewood into curly maple with black/salmon/teal/natural veneers. I also have a matching wrapless break/jump coming from them. 3/8x10 G10 pins, phenolic collars, juma ferrules. Player has 3 shafts and the breaker has two (one having a one piece G10 tip/ferrule and the other with a leather break tip). All of this for <$800. I'll post up in a couple weeks when they arrive. Pretty pumped seeing how well your similarly configured cue seems to have come out. Beautiful choices you made.

In general yes, but that can be changed with a longer shaft taper and a soft tip

And a different joint. You put that Schmelke "pipe thread" joint on and it's gonna hit hard, I don't care what tip you put it on ;) But I suspect, most folks won't get that joint unless they really like firm hit, or want to use as a break cue !!

Nice cue! Great deal on a US made cue!

Enjoy it!

Soon, they will be offering a U.S. ferrule. ;) I just spoke with David yesterday, and they are in the process of testing my Tomahawk ferrule, as a customer option. So far they like what they seeing. :) To the OP...that is a very fine cue that you put together. Nice classic look!

Well I got my new Schmelke I ordered today. I called Dave about 3 weeks ago and asked if he could combine 3 different cues that I had seen on his web site. He said no problem and I couldn't wait to get it. It was worth the wait and I think it turned out great.

That's a nice looking cue.

But you should mark the other pics as private, you accidentally showed us all your penis enlarger. It's OK though, we won't judge ;)

That is a dick mov(er).

From the picture title it's some nail thing or something but if the joke there there... LOL

And looks like the other pics were marked at private now so at least there is some better digital file security now
