Gotta try the OB-1 cue!

Dang

All these OB-1 lovers make me think I am joining a band wagon or something. LOL

I chose the OB-1 because I loved the hit, and because I like the construction. I guess everyone else is figuring out the same thing.

I own all three of the big name shafts and the OB 1 rocks there socks off then a long way to a predator and a country mile to a tiger x.--Leonard

I have two cues with OB 1's and they hit the same-Great.

I'm with Lenord on this one.

Royce can play good pool, too! I was able to grab him as a last minute Scotch Doubles partner for BCA Vegas and we placed 5th out of 430-ish other teams. :) He was a blast to play doubles with.

He would also run to his booth between matches and since we played nonstop Friday 9am until 11pm, he was really running around!

Wow, that is a statement. I was thinking about getting a Predator 314-2 but since everyone on this thread is so convinced that the OB-1 is better, I am now back into pure confusion. *Sigh*

Platinum billiards is the only one that I have seen independent testing on. They only test for deflection though.

Supposedly the OB-1 doesn't rank as high as the Predators.

However I think as far as construction and radial uniformity they are far superior, and that is why I went with OB-1. They also have a better hit in my opinion.

I have to agree x-shaft and z, z^2, 314, 314^2, don't come close to Ob-1 in feel and enjoyment. I just sold one of my ob-1's that i turned down to smaller diameter to a friend. He put the z-shaft away and doesn't want to play with anything else. I can't wait for OB cues, must have one.

Also anytime you tell someone it's OB1 they think you are joking and make a Star Wars comment. lol

Don't be confused......

Buy the OB-1! It's made here in the USA. The people you will be supporting are some great people! Bonus-the shafts are very good.

I've been playing 6 months with an OB-1,ordering a second one now for back-up. The thought of knocking off a tip and playing with something else terrifies me.

I recently went to a billiards retailer nearby and asked the salesman if they had a OB-1 shaft I could try out. The salesman asked, "What's an OB1?" LOL.

From what I understand the problem has been fixed. It was a problem with the glue that was used not the ferrule themselves.

Predator did get the problem fixed. All 314-2 and Z-2 shafts that are now sold should have a sticker on it with "Predator Quality Assured" on it.

wow i got jumped on for that one. sorry about that i guess since that problem was fixed i might consider another predator product.

I had no intention of jumping on you. I apologize if it came across that way.

Yea I heard a lot about the predator problems with the 2 series, but if they got them fixed, and are standing by their product then I don't see what the problem is.

My wife took our z-2's to Vegas with her and they fixed at their booth for free. New ferrule's and Morri M tips. Her ferrule had popped off but there was nothing wrong with mine. Better to be safe than sorry. :) I just ordered my 314-2 on Friday and expect it any day now. I am pretty excited. If anyone in Phoenix has an OB-1 please let me know if I can shoot with it a little.

Thanks,

BVal

If you haven't heard the buzz...you GOTTA try the OB-1 cues! Not only do they hit really well, but if you get a chance to meet the people behind the cues, the Owen-Bunnell team makes their product even better! I recently have taken up one-pocket, and that shaft makes controlling the cue ball and spin so much easier.

Thanks to Royce Bunnell for the good luck in Vegas...I couldn't have done it without you ;)

Hey there Marissa!

Congrat's on winning first in the Women's Open in Vegas. What an accomplishment!

Did you see I captured some shots of you in Vegas? Check out page 4:

New OB-1

Well all I can say about OB-1 is I am sold on their products, and happy with the two shafts I have from them! I won't look back now!
