Grady Needs Our Support

Spoke with Grady and he is in very good spirits after the second round of chemo. He has a break now until Nov 7th. His voice is a tad stronger but still weak. We are both hoping he will be strong enough for me to take him to the DCC in January if just for the Hall of Fame Dinner.

If everyone has just one friend like you, SIR, With world would be a wonderful place. I f we every meet dinner is on me.

A man like this should be saluted.

Thank you for the kind words but I am just doing for a friend. Grady has done so much for pool I just feel we need to do something for him.

I might take you up on a good burger someday .

I decided I needed to put my money where my mouth is and chip in myself. I might even send myself a poster :)

I've been thinking about Grady and I got thinking about the idea of chipping in $200 and receiving a signed poster. No matter how Grady comes through this bout with 'Big C', like all of our pool mentors/legends before, he is not going live forever. But as long as I live, I can look at that poster on the wall and not only will I remember Grady and all that he accomplished in the game, but I will also remember that when he was in need, I chipped in a little and I will always know that he really appreciated that. It's going to feel good to look at that poster.

An Update

I talked to Grady on the phone today. His voice is a bit stronger but still a bit hard to understand. He said that his doctor told him that he is responding well to the chemo and because of that he is being scheduled for more sessions than originally planned. I am going up Sunday and returning Monday. Just taking him some paperwork and making one more visit before I have my own surgery on the 3rd as it may be a few weeks before I'm able to travel that far again.

Many thanks to all who have contributed. Grady will be made aware of each of you and and know he will be very very grateful for the help.

Will keep y'all advised, Pel

Leaving for SC in the morning. Have taken in $430 so far and will deliver it to Grady when I get there.

Thanks y'all, Pel

Grady

Grady has been a legend for me since I first heard of him 24 years ago.
A dream became true for me when I was able to play with him in his pool hall in Lexington.

As I have learnt a lot from Grady when I have been to Lexington in September/October 2008 and as Grady's VHS tapes were the first that I bought regarding pool more than 15 years ago and because I just like him so much I decided to offer the following:

I will share $ 5 of each SEE-SYSTEM book that I will sell from now (30.10.2011) with him.
I want you to stay strong Grady and not to have to think about the medication costs in your situation!!!!

I will send the money and a detailed list of the purchases each week (all 7 days sunday to sunday) to his friend Pelican.

Like this each of us helps a little and Grady even sees who...
