Grady NOT Dead

That's right. The problem with tightly-knit social networking like this, is that everyone is chomping at the bit and leapfrogging each other to try to be the first to break the news.

That's just sad baggage that goes along with the "immediate" nature of social networking.

Keep fighting, Grady! You ain't done yet. You still have a lockup defensive safety inside you yet!

Hey man, I am not sure I agree with the fact that people are chomping at the bit to tell this news. I know I am not. We heard the false news too while on the the road and talked for an hour about how great he was and that he will leave a hole in pool. JA and Nick have known him for a very long time and were visibly upset by the news only to hear not long after that it was not reality. Ah well, hope by some divine intervention that he jumps back out of his bed and heads down to the poolroom.

100%! typical of certain members on this site trying to impress others and up there standing in the ridiculous az hierarchy... pathetic!

He's not dead - simple as that.

I'm sure the news of his premature passing has reached him--- imagine that?

Dead? His bookie isn't even making him post his bets yet!

He has a strong will to live. It is why he ran every day and why he advised me so many times to get fit and stay that way. I put in an hour in the gym tonight Grady, thanks for caring enough to tell me.

I feel terrible for posting the thread. Jerry Bento called us with the news that Grady was passed. Jerry lives in Columbia, SC, and so I thought he knew. I hope the moderators please delete my thread. I do feel terrible.:frown:
Don't worry. If any of us had gotten a call like that, we probably would have done the same.
I can only imagine how badly you feel, but we all love ya.

Hi Mark!

I know you're not. (Chomping at the bit to tell this news, that is.) And I know many others aren't. This is not the kind of news we want or like to share, about such a well-liked, respected, and stand-out member of our sport.

My comment was general in nature, in response to 1on1pooltourneys' "Social networking isn't all it's cracked up to be" comment. The sad fact is, people that live on social networking ARE leapfrogging each other to share news. It's almost like a race of the "Enquirers" (i.e. the tabloids) to see who can get the news quicker and get it out there, with the "you heard it here first" notion and 1,768 comments to the news. It's like a rush or something.

I know my opinion of that is not popular with people who love social networking, but remember, in the "day job" thing, I care for the Internet pipes that carry this stuff among other things.
