Grady & Parica incident

I've always admired Grady, he has done so much for this sport that goes un- noticed, and has yet to received the recognition he so deserves. If in fact he did stiff arm Jose for trying to stiff him, its just one more reason why i love this guy. Deadbeats that dont pay their debts deserve to be bit-h slapped. And for you who are waiting for Grady to respond so you can flame him, BACK OFF:mad:
He is a great asset to this forum and has forgotten more than most of us will ever know:eek:
I lost respect for Parica in 93 when at JOB's in Nashville. He arrives with a wad of cash that wouldn't hardly fit in his pocket. Mean while over hearing one guy asking for some money JP owed him. He made some excuse and didn't pay. By Sunday he had made a couple of bad games, lost the rest playing cards in the motel room, then had to pawn his sticks to the room owner to get home! And he is(was at that time) a champion! That spoke volumes of his character to me!!

Point is Parica seems like one that would stiff you if he could and I think I would have liked to been there to see Grady stand up for his self!!

I will answer this on my blog. I'm not even going to read the posts on this topic.

Well Grady, the least you could do is tell us what your blog address is at the bottom of your posts. We're kind of a lazy lot and don't want to go googling your blog every time we want to go there. :)

Clicking on a link would be far easier. ;)

Note that no one who has posted in this thread actually SAW what happened. Either it was "I was there (but I wasn't there at the time)" or "I heard from someone who was there". Hearsay at its finest.

On top of that, someone else thinks Grady should have to "clear his name" based on said hearsay.

Brilliant.

I noted two were there

can't seem to find it. which article was it?

Click the link, it is the top article.

Jose does not appear to be a favorite of Grady and rightfully so from the sound of it.

Shame on you Jose. If you are willing to collect then you need to be willing to pay including old debts.

That was great reading about what happened, i really like the part about Grady coming out the overall winner in the tournament in the gambling and in everything thing else that took place. Just goes to show all good things come to those that deserve it. And as far as Jose I hope what goes around comes around and some day he gets stiffed, or B-tched slapped again for being such a deadbeat. Way to go Grady. You are the Man.

I'm afraid at this point he probably never will receive the recognition he deserves. Sad, but true. Someday like us all he'll die and then everybody will talk about how much he did, it would be nice if he received it now not 30 years from now.
It is the same in all sports though, once somebody is no longer active he is forgotten until he dies. Pool is probably even worse because to the general public who don't play pool, all the greats, with the possible exception of Willie Mosconi, mean very little at all.
