Grand Prix Links.

I hope that someone can post a link to the Grand Prix this weekend. I will make an effort and post anything I find. If possible we need to find a link where the broadcast is in the Queen's English and does not require a proxy.

Can't wait!!!!!

I haven't been able to get into BBC with a proxy for more than a year.:(
Gave up trying, too frustrating.
Don't know if the problem is overloaded servers or BBC technical sleuthing.

So looking forward to reports from anyone who actually succeeds

I suspect it's something to do with the way the BBC set's the service up to bar overseas access. There are usually reminders posted that they are only available to UK viewers, who after all fund the BBC via the television licence fee. Foreign broadcasters pay for the broadcasting rights, and the price you pay is a foreign commentator, who generally don't understand the principle of shutting the **** up and letting us watch the game.

I get BBC and BBC Canada cable channels and they have a Canadian web site.

Sent e-mail requesting that they make snooker matches available but so far no response:(

Perhaps if they got more requests it might inspire them to give us access to this UK icon:D

Here's the link

Since nothing is available in North America I don't see any problem with broadcasting rights.

Well O'Sullivan just polished off Ding 6-0 in the Premiere League without breaking sweat. I was watching on Sky Sports 3.

I have a friend in the UK that has set up a proxy server (just for me) and that works just fine. I watched most of the WC live. But don't tell my work they think I was doing something else ;)

I've tried a couple of public UK proxies and they all work for me. Some require a couple of tries before the packets find their way... But having a personal proxy is not required.
A little heads up though, some Codeen proxies aren't actually in the UK. It seems like the IP keeps changing every time you use one of them.
So verify your IP then check where it is. If it returns as UK, go to the BBC page and start watching with commentary from the great WT, JP, Dennis Taylor, John Virgo and even Ken Dorothy

If you gents (and lasses possibly) need me to write a long step by step howto guide let me know. But the internet is full of site explaining how to work a proxy and doing this isn't easy, straight forward or automatic. It is going to require quite a bit of trial and error. So those of you how aren't willing to do a little research yourself are also going to be dissatisfied with a howto guide that's gonna take me the rest of the day to write and would probably take you at least an hour to implement and verify that it's all working.
On top of that the lifetime of the public proxies is usually only a day or two so once you have found one and set up your computer, you could have to do it all over again tomorrow.
