There's Allot going on with this shot, do you realize making this 3 ball bank is NOT what's really important?

Nice bank. I suppose as shot, if the ball missed, there was a good chance of a hook or failing that, no likely way to get back on the 4 ball. Well played indeed.

His obj. ball speed was Perfect, he was able to move the 3 towards the 4 having both balls close to each other. By hitting it short ''he made sure'' his opponent would then be kicking at the 3.
In a pros mind, it's a free shot with a ton of Upside return.
I'm thinking he didn't want to make it But, he made sure to hit it Short and NOT hang the 3 in the pocket jaw.

actually if he missed and hit the short rail i think it would have bounced to where it could be seen

A Player of his caliber playing to make that bank, then go from the 4 to the 5 would of NOT froze the cb on the foot rail, and he for SURE would not want to leave it hanging in the pocket.
If he did plan to make it, his next shot would have to be a safe.
If he was going to run out (NOT realistic).
He'd then have to pocket....an EXTREMELY tough force follow shot to come completely around table & avoid the 7 & 8 to get Shape on the 5.
Note, the 5 is on the foot rail.
Also, as the banked 3 ball rotation came off, the 3 changed direction inward/ towards the pocket catching the facing as the ball started it's natural roll.

The shot on the 3 was a pretty standard 2-way bank shot. After making it, he's absolutely perfect on the 4 (also near the foot rail).

Are you confusing the 4 and 5 ball?

You're reading too much into it. He played the bank and perfect position on the pink 4.

No, I'm just a purple 4 guy, even the pros have played improper position on that ball since it's change.
But it still was a free shot even when missed, because of the obvious.
