Great Junior Amateur Players

Mike Tosado of New York, NY turned 14 this week, and already plays "B" speed. Should be right in the hunt in the next 14 and under junior nationals.

Update: Just got home from Amsterdam Billiards, where, sure enough I played Mike Tosado. As always, I gave him four on the wire to eleven. I fought the good fight up to 9 - 9, but the kid played the last two racks like a champion and took me down 11 - 9. I'll get him next time!

Clayton "Moo goo" Dennis ( Esksoni Nova Scotia ) i would have to say is the best under 18 player i have ever played.

Hopfully he will get to the canadians.

I played a kid in Phoenix AZ named Mitch, I think he was 17 at the time, didn't know his last name, but he strung 2 - 3 racks at a time playing 9ball. And high runs in the 50's for straight, I know I couldn't phase that when I was 17. I was still trying to spell pool. :)

Shan lehrkamp and myself (Tanner Pruess) are pretty good. we both place 5-6th in the junior vnea national in team back to back years and i placed 9-12th in singles and won a mini tournament.

How about Michelle Rakin's little brothers. I think one of them is named Daniel.

Come to think of it, though it's not well-known, Jasmin Ouschan has a younger brother who, acoording to Gerda Hofstatter, ran over 100 in straight pool when he was eleven. Now, he'd be about fourteen.

Albin Ouschan
Chia-Chin Wu
Nicolas Otterman

Wu is very special, at 16 he strings together six packs quite routinely and plays lights out.

Wu is well known after reaching stage 2 of the WPC, but isn't he is professional?

His name is Dan. He plays at the Broken Rack in Emeryville a lot. He's not as strong as some junior players I've seen in the past, but he plays pretty sporty. Definitely can run some racks. I think he would be a threat in any Junior tourney. He's about an 85 USPPA or so. Michelle's about a 100.

Mike Banks JR
Justin Bergman
Lars Vardaman
Tyler Strawn
Sam Gilmer

Sam is now 19 by the way, so he no longer qualifies. I would definately say Bergman is the strongest I have seen in quite some time. Kid got game!

Your right he would be a classified as a professional, sorry I'm just not used to calling 16 year olds "professional" players.

Wayne Hutter from Florida. Played for a few years on the Fury Amateur Tour and finish most of the time in the top 1/4 of the field. Now he's racking up ther Junior events in Florida
Kay

Not sure about U.S players but John Morra (Canada) 15 yr old, finished second at a last Joss event. Danny Basavich finished 9-12...
