Great Pool Player Monikers

We have a guy here named Bad Back Donny. That always cracks me up.
There's Billy Bob Cress, Mike Z. is called The Bear, Tim Tweedell is Red Raider (red hair, we just call him our ugly red-haired stepchild  ), there was a gal here who named herself Thunderstroke, that we all got a kick out of, Dan Louie is Chop Suey Louie (owned a Chinese restaurant), Geiler is The Hat, and of course, mine is built-in - Wonder Woman. Jimmy Mataya (Pretty Boy Floyd) used to call me Seattle Slim - but that was 10 pounds ago! Here's a pic of us one time long ago.

Also wondering how Ginky got his nickname???

I dunno Colin. I've been following this thread closely for a few days now and I still have not seen anybody come up with anything that is more creative than Colin "Cleanser" Colenso. Now call me crazy if you want to, but I think this "Triple C" thing has potential. Now I'm pretty sure people will laugh at it initially, but its different enough to where they will never forget it - it fits in real well with the Natural Cures thing - plus - its got a nice ring to it :) I think its great!

Try it out for while, discuss it amongst the Shanghai locals - and if you don't like it, then I guess you're stuck with Colin "Grasshopper" Colenso (boring...)

With the name triple C you could also go by C Cubed or just Cubed. I don't know maybe it could have a dual meaning since you are such a science of pool geek. no offense intended I am too.

ok, I agree with ya on grasshopper.
Cleanser, though it sounds like my last name when said quickly, makes me think of a colon irrigation, a mouthwash or John the Baptist...lol

Now 'The Cleaner' would be pretty cool, but I think I better earn that with some decent run out percentages, or masterful outs.

re: C Cubed...or triple C...I like it, but how many nicknames can I have?:o

I think I better do something on the table before I can lay claim to anything that sounds genuine.

Till then I'm just the "Shanghai Rookie", making a comeback at 40y.o.

I am confused. I went out with a guy in college named Colin and he pronounced it Collin, hating it when someone pronounced it like colon. But then I think I heard you say it like colon. So if that's the case, then you should be The Irrigator. <teasing> Cleanser, Cleaner and Colonic all work too, cause you are just gonna flush everyone out of the poolroom, baby!

uurrrggghhhh...what an image...I ain't no large intestine:eek: :D

Actually, I pronounce Colin, sounding the 'in' part, and the Col is more like Doll than Coal in sound. Not like Colin Powell which sounds like Coal-en. I've never heard that pronuciation except in the US.

How about 'The Battler', as in the Aussie Battler. It means to struggle hard and that's what I'll be doing to try to catch up to the top pros:D

Aussie battler
An Aussie battler is someone who has to (and does) work hard to achieve their goals. It is often a term to respectfully describe someone who will battle on regardless of adversities thrown their way and will quite often emerge the other end of the tunnel victorious, or at least proud of the way they've handled themselves. Even in the "lucky country", there are many Aussie battlers! :)

Colin "The Shanghai Battler" Colenso;)

How about Colin Hydrocolonic Colenso ? :) or Colin Polyp Colenso lol I know, it's late...

I don't think you should make one up unless the IPT requires one. You should be assigned one by a third party. That is the natural progression...

Wonder Woman -

Very nice pic. You are quite the looker :)

So tempting ...lol

I believe the IPT does want player nick-names...I forget where I read that though.

You're right that it's strange to dub oneself...but, if I must, I should choose a name that is not so pretentious, and one I think describes myself pretty accurately.

Being out of my top competition days for 10 years, which was at a national rather than international level, I'll have to battle my way to make any impression on the IPT. I can guarantee a hard battle, my best efforts in the true tradition of the Aussie Battler...

Col "The Shanghai Battler" Colenso:cool:

colin " 6 pack " Colenso (your opponent is probably broke before u finished drinking your daily 6pack?)

Colin " The force " Colenso (USE your force Luke!!)

Colin " Coconut " Colenso (ur as nuts as a cocoNUT somtimes, but u'd still do a 100+ clearence in straight pool if the balls where replaced with coconuts. And its the 3C (i must say Triple C is the best ive read till now)

i got a perfect one for you

How about...

Colin "The Calculator" Colenso

or

Calculatin Colin Colenso

The two "c" sounds in calculator work well with your name, and you got to admit, you do love doing calculations, as evidence from your mathematical aiming system thread you posted about a month or two ago.

Cheers to The Calculator!

There's a 73.287% chance I could go for the moniker 'The Calculator':D
