Pool has tragically lost a beautiful young woman. Erin Riggs, a 26 year old competitive pool player, was taken from us last Friday. In a very nice gesture, Breakers Billiards in Greensboro will be hosting a benefit this Thursday night the 14th, beginning at 6pm. All table time revenues will be donated to Erin's family to assist with their medical expenses, and Breakers will be accepting donations for Erin's family.

Please come and show your support for one of ours. Besides loving pool, Erin chose to give her life's work to autistic children. She was truly a good person. Please choose to give a little back. And please take a moment to pass the word to anyone you know near the Greensboro area. Breakers Billiards is at 5605 W. Friendly Ave in the Quaker Village Shops, phone 336-852-8777.

"Erin Lynn Riggs, 26, died Friday, October 8, 2010 at Moses Cone Hospital. Born March 3, 1984 she is a daughter of Edward and Elizabeth "EJ" Riggs of Greensboro. She was a graduate of GTCC and graduated with honors from Guilford College with a degree in psychology. Erin was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Erin was a life counselor at Therapeutic Alternatives, working with autistic children. In her free time Erin was a competitive pool player. She will be remembered for her big smile and even bigger heart by her very large circle of friends."

Memorial for Erin Riggs in Greensboro, NC

You may want to let those in Kernersville know about the Memorial Thursday at Breaker's in Greensboro. Many people may have forgot her (since she was in the hospital for over a year before her death). She was truly a nice person! (This gathering IS NOT a pool tournament), simply a memorial for her from her friends and relatives.

It's always so sad when such a good person dies too soon. This planet needs all the Erin Riggs' it can get!
 
I will be there. I hope there will be lots of folks to show her family how the poolplayers feel when something likes this tragedy occurs. Hope everyone will come and show their support.

How sad! It's such a shame when the good die so young. I applaude our friends at Breakers for this kind and loving gesture. I couldn't be there tonight but I gave Tom a small donation on Tuesday. God bless Erin and her family.
