hello,

I have a change to get a grizzly model g9249. Please either post your or pm me your opinion about this lathe.

Right now i have a hightower mid-size lathe and i'm thinking about moving to this grizzly. I have a change to get one for a great price.

All opinions are valued.

Get the machine if you can... Its better to have both a cue lathe and a metal lathe. I use both mine all the time for different things not to mention multiple machines is the way to go.. Way less setup time...GET IT or you'll wish you had......Dave

I wish i could afford both. But i have to pick one. Stay with what i have to grab this grizzly.

It sounds like a great lathe, just be advised that it will need mods. to make cues with, which means more investment money in the near future. All of which will be worth every penny when it's setup. enjoy,

If you can taper with that, u can make cues.
 
That's a nice lathe and you can't go wrong with Grizzly. They make great machines. I have one of their 8 inch jointers.

Joey, all you have to do, is build a set of taper bars. not to tough to do..
When I built mine, there were 4 bars.
1 for shafts, 1 for butts, 1 for handle stock, and the last one, for forearms...3 settings on the lead bar coming off your cross slide, with a bearing at the end. Easy fix..

I knew that.
I have a taper machine and trying to get my cnc taper machine set up .
