Guinness 9ball Finals - Sopcast/tvu Schedule

 That rule should be changed. IMHO, if there is a tie, then the actual match-up between the contestants who tied should be the next consideration. Since Gabica prevailed over Wu 9 to 7, he should have been the 4th man in in the semifinals. There should have been 3 Filipinos and 1 Taiwanese.

Thnx for the "real" TV schedule f210!

The first tiebreak is racks won, since they both won the same number of racks (41), they will go by
the number of racks lost. They both have the same number of racks lost (35), the last tiebreak would
be the "lucky draw", just like what Augustine Tan had described. I agree it should be "winner-over-the
-other" rule, it's so disheartening to see an opponent you beat, who's quotient is not even superior to
yours, go through to the next round...

No head to head comparison, they just drew a lucky draw between Wu n Gabica. Gabica lost the draw, Wu to the semi tomorrow. Uday Joshi from Star Sports handle the drawing.
Tough luck for Gabica, he play 4 straight match today, I don't know why they arrange it that way. I think that's why he lost the last 2 match, fatigue, even after leading 8-5 over Ricky Yang (end up lost 8-9). I feel for Gabica.

It's one game apiece, Wu won the lag and have the advantage of breaking if the match goes down to hill-hill...

updates? anyone? anyone?

Alex dogged an easy 7 in the 4th rack, Wu up, 3-1. He broke in the 5th, both players exchanged
safeties until Wu ran short on his safety play and gave Alex a decent shot on the 2 ball. Alex
missed a toughie and sold out, 4-1 to WU. I think Wu's destined to win this whole thing, after a
miracle 9-3 drubbing he gave to Ricky Yang to tie Gaga Gabica with an identical number of win-loss
racks, followed by the lucky draw to get to where he is right now.

Alex broke in the 6th and pocketed a ball, played a long tough bank on the 3 ball and got it! The 4-9
combo was dead on and he makes it! It's 4-2 Wu's favor and breaking next...

Wu broke dry in the 7th and Alex opted for the push out. Alex tied two balls, and Wu accepted and played a wicked safety on Alex. Alex took the short stick and went airborne and makes it! The balls are layed a bit funny and Alex played a couple of tough banks to get out, he still trails Wu, 3 games to 4 but he's breaking next...

8th RACK:

Alex broke and made a ball but has no shot on the lowest numbered ball. He played a weak safety
and Wu returned the favor. Alex played another weak safety although the only shot available for
Wu is a bank shot. Wu makes the bank shot on the side and ran out the 6 balls.

9th RACK:

It's 5-3 for Wu and breaking next. Wu broke and made a ball. It's almost a road map for Wu. Wu
started mopping the table and it's now 6-3 for Wu with Alex breaking next...

10th RACK:

Alex broke and made the 2 and 8 ball off the break but the 1 ball is fully covered but is a sitting
duck in the left foot rail pocket. Alex played rail first and makes it while getting a great shape on
the next ball which was on the other side of the pond. Alex was going through the motions until
he ran short on position on the 7 ball. No option but to play safe and played safe he did as he
put the only ball aside from the 7 and the CB as his cover. Wu kicked from the long foot rail and
gave a tough shot for Alex. Alex makes it and the 9 ball as well. It's 6-4 for Wu and breaking next...

11TH RACK:

Wu broke and made a ball but has no shot at the 1 ball. Wu played a safety, Alex decided to go
airborne again, made a legal hit, parked the CB almost frozen to the head rail but the 1 ball found
his way near the left corner pocket. Wu pocketed the 1 and has a cosmo out from here.

7-4 for Wu and Alex breaking next...

12TH RACK:

Alex broke and made a ball, but can't see the 1 ball. Alex played a rail first shot, with double
intentions. He didn't make the ball but ran safe with the 1 ball fully covered. Wu goes for the
long rail kick, made a good shot and the CB and the object ball went separate ways. Alex opted
for a kick although the ball is 60% visible. Alex fouled and Wu's out.

8-4 for Wu and breaking next for the a seat in the finals...

13TH RACK:

Wu was going through the motions and it looks like it was just for formality until reached the 7 ball.
He pocketed the 7 but his CB ran into the 8. The only ball on the table was right in between the CB
and the 8 ball. Wu kicked and both the CB and the 7 ball ended up in the near the end rails, one went
South while the other went North. Alex felt he's gothing to lose and went for a very tough cross bank
and makes it! The 9 went it and it's 8-5 for Wu but Alex breaking next!

14TH RACK:

Alex broke and made two balls. Alex got his B&R this time in a long while, but Wu has
another chance to finish Alex' misery again...

15th RACK:

Wu broke and pocketed the 1 and the 2 ball but has no shot at the 3 ball. Wu played safe,
Alex played safe, Wu played safe and Alex said, "patay", it means "I'm dead!" He sold the 3
ball out! Wu called extension, trying to mapped out his path to the finals. Wu's feeling the
heat as he snookered himself in his next shot! Played a rail first shot and makes it! Five more
balls to go for Wu, 4 more, down to 3 more, 2 more to go...

Wu's out and the first man in the finals!
