As has been posted in the main forum, we are looking for any available sponsorship for our attempt at setting a record for consecutive games. Anyone interested please post here or contact Daniell Hill at 256-283-7982

... and why exactly is this in the WANTED/FOR SALE section?!?!

My apologies, wanted... sponsorship. Here for viewing by suppliers, cuemakers, or any billiards organization.

Actually, I suppose this is a fitting place for such a post. While you may not be selling a product per se, you are kind of 'pimping yourself' out. In a good way though.

Good luck with the sale... of yourself. :)

What is the record?

Currently Guinness recognizes no record. Another site erroneously claims a holder at 1000, but Guinness does not.

Either way, we are shooting for 1001 at minimum. Most likely we will stop shortly thereafter by pure exhaustion if not by choice.

I hope you plan on playing 3ball, because even if you could get through 40 racks of 9ball an hour. That would take you 25 hours and a few mintues for the last rack. 9000balls in 25 hours = 1 ball every 10 seconds.

The claim was mad previously 1000 games in 45 hours. On the break and combos count. Balls all racked by another person. No defensive shots. Playing to assist the other player in making balls. No need for a hard bank shot, easier to bump the ball open and allow the opponent to run out. This is not competitive 9 ball. Just short of speed pool

45 hours of pool? holly shit

I couldn't do anything for 45 hours straight. I figured it wasn't cut throat, but constantly bending down, stroking, focusing on making shots. Will make even the most dedicated champion Mentally and Physcially tired.

Why is a sponsor needed to do this?

Essentially, I am looking for two cues much lighter than I normally play with. Swinging a 1 1/4 lb cue 9000 times will get quite tiresome. An additional shaft in case something were to happen, or the tip wear out even.

Sponsorship adds validity to any event and would go towards substantiating the Guinness claim. The verification process can be somewhat stringent. This is a good thing to keep anyone from saying they performed this at home and having some friends sign a statement.

The point of this event is not just to get a name in the record book, it is to promote the game. Doing so in a darkly lit room with three people watching does not do such a thing. Television coverage and media exposure does. These are the things we are seeking to help gain interest in pool in our area and state. You can view some of my tournament post topics to see where I have been promoting some regional tournaments here, but these have not brought much attention from our local area. I am trying all I can to make this a large promotion.

They say business is location, location, location. Events are promotion, promotion, promotion.
