Guns and Cues, Show us your Piece

Very nice Matt. My all time favorite large caliber rifle is my old Winchester Model 94 30-30 (at least 50 or 60 years old). That thing will shoot through just about anything, and accurately too! I used to have a Winchester 30-06 but it was more rifle than I would ever need. I wasn't going big game hunting any time soon.

Nice rifle.

I have 2 old 94's one is from 1897 (original length barrel) and the other is a 1960 model (carbine). The 60 model is brand new. Dad gave them to me to keep in my safe so I have taken over ownership rights lol.

I would post pics of my guns but I don't have that long and I am a little nervy. Obama is doing too good a job for me to be comfortable.......

Remember Taxi Driver when DeNiro peppered that guy with his .25? Bye Bye
A cop friend of mine in Bakersfield once remarked to another cop who laughed at my little .25 Browning, "If he put it against your head it might as well be a bazooka!"

There also known to bounce around inside one quite a bit hitting several vitals often whereas a 38 etc will mostly go straight through. If it isnt in the right place (depending on your perspective) the 25 may do a better job.

Expanded, stricter background checks are needed and every gun sale undergoes a background check. ...."Regulate the gun owners instead of blaming the guns."

Matt B.

I was completely with you all the way up to here. You can not regulate morality. People purchase guns every day illegally and that will not change with stricter rules. Criminals do not recognize or obey laws, that is basically the definition of a criminal.

Other than that you were pretty spot on.

It is the opposite of what you think. The moment you have a gun on you it is your responsibility to never get into a confrontation. There is no such thing as "What are you looking at" or "Are you talking to me".

You in effect have to become ultra passive, or you may instigate something and have to use the gun as a result of your own doing. Better to take a few insults or even embarrassment then get in a confrontation over nothing. Self defense means self defense. If you can't abide by this then never leave the house with a gun on you.

I will not lie, there is a difference, such as you are driving and some guy cuts you off and shoots you the bird. You feel totally confident and there is no need to confront anyone. You just go on your way. All ego has to be left at home when you carry a gun.

Agreed 100%

I used to be somewhat of a hothead and I have been in more fights than I need to recount. As I got older I worried less about what someone might say to me and more about what someone may do to my family or me in a situation beyond our control.

I will turn and walk away now where I would never do that before, Carrying a gun daily has made me much less aggressive and that is how it should be. I have no Glock stickers on my truck and don't carry in a way someone would know I am armed. God forbid I ever have to show someone my firearm, it will be a last resort.

Criminals are already buying guns legally. They buy it the same way any decent gun owner buys them.

Haven't you heard of people buying receivers and drilling them at home and putting together these high powered rifles?

I am not against owning guns but it is too damn easy today to buy one and I am not talking about the black market.

A criminal who hasnt been caught-yeah

but otherwise a felon can't buy a gun legally in the US. A Domestic Violence arrest even though not a felony and you are barred also i believe-at least in most States.

On a more fun related topic....hey Jay...you ask and it just so happens I happen to have a Winchester Model 94 (30 W.C.F.) made in June 1948.

Winchester doesn't make actions like they did back then.....what a friggin great rifle. Here's some photos.

Don't you think it is sad how out of hand you were with your anger that you need to carry a gun to make you calm?

You, sir, are a moron.

I never said I needed a gun to keep me calm, those were your words. I mentioned that as I grew older and had a family and responsibilities my mindset changed, it is called maturity.

I will not allow myself to be involved in situations now, that I may have previously, due to legal ramifications and the reality that for every instigator there are 10 lawyers standing by to sue someone. If someone gets drunk or is just an idiot and tries to involve me in a conflict I will make every effort to extricate myself from the situation. When I had less to lose I didn't concern myself with repercussions from my actions as I do now.

You can think what you want of me, that is your right, but your snide comments make you look like a douche.

Here's My Other Long Guns

Here are some photos of my other long guns.....the '03A Springfield original stock was cut down by my step dad but it is his sniper rifle from WWII.

The Browning A Bolt is from 1983 and is a spectacular shooting weapon with its Bausch Lomb Scope.

Lastly, is my very first rifle....Mossberg Target Rifle..... I got at 13 years old which I received after making the rifle team. You can see why it's a steady
hold when the recoil is only from a .22 caliber round. This rifle is from 1940 and shoots astonishingly accurate.

And to keep everyone satisfied with this post, let me add that I am really excited about the cue Jerry Rauenzahn is building for me. We worked out the
last details today and I leaped with joy when he told me he had a special piece of wood he's been saving for awhile waiting for the right cue......the leap
came after he told me he would use it for my cue. The time I've spent speaking with Jerry over the past 3 days ironing out the details on my cue build
have been extremely informative for me about cue-making. This cue is Jerry is making for me will be an absolute knockout....No bout adoubt it.....

Okay...back to my armory......I hope you enjoy the photos of my collection, especially the handguns.

Here we go what? Another instigator with their popcorn thread.

Surely you can't think that in the main pool forum a thread about guns and pool is appropriate.

I'm 100% for guns, but not in a pool forum where potential sponsors and new players read.

And when its your decision, we can go from there.
For now...simmer down.

people have been making guns forever-In the 50's we had zip guns.

The idiot/shithead in the video doing ALMOST that in mass is a low life criminal imo and a moron for trying to get publicity also. I hope they find a way to put him out of business and in jail.

This is also a long way from criminals buying guns the same way legal owners do however. Personally i could not drill and assemble it either.

Would You Go Back To Dine At a Horrible Restaurant?

Hey...I talked about pool via having a new cue made for me in my last post......I'll post photos once Jerry Rauenzahn sends me some.....but meanwhile, if this topic is offensive for some and is so
bothersome, why not just treat it like a very bad restaurant...... " YOU STOP GOING THERE!"

Was that subtle enough for everyone.......and to keep this post square, my new custom....my own design...arrives this month and I've got no one I can fault or blame if it's a quacker......I 'm hoping
for a peacock but might wind up with an ugly duckling......stay tuned in the Cue Gallery.......Again, I can't show you photos other than the veneers Bob sent me last year.......I obviously have my
fingers crossed hoping for the best....I have lots of naysayers that would luv to come out of the woodwork and criticize my cue design. My butt sleeve design promises to be a killer....we'll soon see.
