Not me but I did just finish new shafts for a big Gus myself.

Rod, the proportions on this cue are perfect from the perfect forearm length with the perfect highth prongs to the perfect base point gap to the perfect length wrap to the perfect length sleeve to the perfect width hope ring... It's just estheticly beautiful. Gus may not have thought so but he was an artist. He worked his craft till everything was proportioned correctly. He had a great eye and you my friend have a wonderful piece of him.

That cue is all wrong for you! Send it to me it will fit right in with my old production cues!

My guess too.If I had an awesome Gus Hoppe,I would want Dennis to make some shafts for it.Dennis Searing has a tremendous amount of respect for Gus and Barry.When he ( Dennis ) tells me he likes something,I listen.Congrats Rod.That is quite a cue,to say the least.Merry Christmas to all and a Safe and Happy New Year.

Bumperless Hoppe is my favorite too :smile: Oh yes,and I live in Boca Raton,Fl,near Dennis.I am on his waiting list for a Hoppe as I believe that Dennis is the Balabushka of this century,except even more precision in Dennis's builds.
 
Szamboti cues were built for playing pool. It’s great that you continue to put yours to good use. The taper on the new shaft looks like it could provide a fairly stiff hit. If you ship it out to me and let me play with it for a few weeks, I would be willing to provide my endorsement in writing.
