This cue to me is georgous. Yes it has plastic points.....its still beautifull.

Barry told me that his dad had made around 7 of these cues with the Wico points. He personally has only seen a couple of them. It is in fantastic condition....what do you think ???????

I have been looking for this! Even started a thread once.

Some cuemakers say that plastic veneers are not as good at wood ones but look! Still so bright and gorgeous! Wat a beauty!

You know what...

it is aweful, aweful for a collector to have a cue with plastic veneers...just send it to me and I will take care of it for you!

I really do like it, it definitely pops and brings the forearm to life.

hey

That all very well may be true to someone who is looking for a playing cue.

But this bad boy by Gus, is incredible and those colors just jump off the cue, right in my face..LOL..

From a collector standpoint, how can you beat it.

its a Gus
its in great shape
its super rare

Fabulous

I love the true bright white veneer in this cue. Plastic or not it is my favorite veneer color. I think there are only two makers out there currently that would still do this type veneer, Phillippi and Black Boar. Don't hold me to that as I am not 100 percent but I am still pretty certain about it. Anyhow back to the beauty of this cue. I like this cue best of all the Szamboti's that you have posted to this point. Great cue Steve and as always thanks for posting pictures for us to enjoy.

from that i was told wico points were popular bc some cuemakers were scared they wouldnt stay together over time. guess they were wrong.

i had a wico veneered cue once.

Question

By the way what are WICO points anyhow? I thought I knew at one time but my memory has failed me.

Thanks

To tell the truth, I dont remember what Barry told me on this. I believe they were colored vinyl points or some kind of plastic..

Anyone know for sure..........
Steve

I thought that wico was a company that made blanks in the earlier days as they made blanks with plastic veneers for some of the older generation of production cues. Viking was it?

Another monster cue. I really love the classic stuff above all else. Isn't this the Blue Book cue also? Extra kudos if so.

I thought I read somewhere that Tim Scruggs used to work at WICO among other big cue names.

This is what I was told as well. Wico also made some 3 point blanks if I remember correctly.

This cue is a true beauty.

Exactly what I was meant to say. What is more is that when I read the thread's title I imagined this very same cue in that instant. This is the one and only WICO Gus that I know of - due to BBOPC 3rd ed.

It IS a true pleasure seeing this cue in color - damn it that the Book is black/white :o

hey

Barry told me that his dad had bought 12 sets of these Wico points. He only made about 7 cues with those points.

So he made the entire cue but just used the Wico points instead of the traditional veneers, when he made the blank.

They really need to do a pdf version in color...or have it avaialble online for a subscription fee or something like that. Need to do a Szamboti family picture!!!

tikkler-

Eff you and your never ending bank roll... and your endless supply of top-o'-the-line cues!!!

Unless the next thread is "check out my piece of crap sneaky" or "Hey Pharaoh! You want this Gina for free?!?!" I don't want to hear it!!!

-B <------- jealous as hell.

LOL, ok one more post.....

What I want to know is, how many balls can Steve run.....???

There are a lot of collectors here who can't run 2 balls. Not that there is anything wrong with that.....just funny thats all:)
