There was a room in NY called Guys and Dolls. Does anyone remember anything about it? Wasn't there a couple of good players to come out of that room?

Pancho was from there, and Boston Joey played there, as did "Little" Frankie, probably the best kid hustler (about 14) I ever saw.
Of course, Jersey Red, Johnny Ervolino, New York Blackie, Richie Ambrose and Rex (a great pure hustler) used to ply their trade there as well, when they weren't over at 7-11. I saw white Cannonball play there against "Country" a great black player, who was said to never lose.
After about a year in New York, I was ready to take on the world. My game went up about three speeds. I became, lo and behold, a "shortstop", meaning I now had the ability to beat a few people.
