Haddad vs SVB ?

The top pro players always give the top shortstops the 7 and they always win. Regardless, i like Shane in this game.

I wouldn't describe Haddad as merely a shortstop. I only saw him playing once at one of those late night tournaments near Valley Forge. He was unbelievable and beautiful to watch. Perfect cueball control with minimal effort, nobody was even close to him. Now he may have just been on that night, but he was as good as Shane that night.
We talked to him a little, seemed like a really nice guy too, but maybe that's what hustler's do. :)

You don't get out much, do you big dog? Haddad is a handful for anybody even. When he catches his top gear, he can hang with anyone.

He's just a ball under the best, gets larger if he knows he's got too tough a game and is put under a constant can't miss a ball or else situation. You got your hands full with this guy, whoever you are.

Tap tap tap. Mark's got game!

Mark told me on Saturday that Shane ran 9 in a row on him in their match on Saturday (there was a $1500 added bar box turnament in town). Then he proceeded to beat me 5 games in a row giving me 10-5 in one pocket. I'm considering giving up the game now.

Not really, he's actually a nice guy. He was teaching me as I lost (telling me what he was doing and why) so it wasn't so bad, I just couldn't make two balls in a row to save my life that night.

Yep, Mark won the Open Bar Table Tournament in Reno a few years back. I think it was the 8 Ball Tournament, but I can't remember. Jay would know which one?

Mark is subject to beat anyone playing at his best. No one has to like it. He did beat Earl Stickland in Reno I witnessed that race and he won like 9 to 4, and he has also beaten Parica 3 or 4 times in a tournament.

Anyone giving Mark the 6 ball is in trouble.

i know Mark for 23 years, he plays good, but he dosent play like Archer or SVB, the 6 or 7 in 9B is perhaps the right line. No way can he bet them even, he dosent hate $$$ and isnt gonna lose a stake horse so you probably wont see him playing SVB heads up anytime soon, sounds like good exibition that SVB managed well.

Normally, with the 6 ball Mark would have a slight edge on any player especially should he get all the breaks. I think the 7 ball with all of the breaks would be about an even game with any player. Maybe Dennis or Efren could give Mark the 6 ball should winner break.

Mark is subject to catch a gear and when your best players are not on top of their game he is subject to win that match against any player playing even.

I agree, he will not play Archer or Shane even anytime soon for money. He definitely has the heart for it, but is lacking only a little stroke to play even, but like I said earlier, Mark has certainly taken down some strong players in tournaments when he has hit his best gear. He also has a great slip stroke and always fun to watch in a tournament.

no doubt he has the heart but he cant get there with the 7 playing the top pro's or the 6 with archer or SVB. winner breaks. ever.

This tread indicated earlier that Shane ran 9 racks in a row on Mark in their match is that correct?

I think he played the AZ'er Alex k with that spot in onehole not Mark Haddad if I read it right.--Leonard

clarification

I just went back and re-read what I wrote and it still makes sense to me but I can see where the confusion comes from so let me clarify...

Mark told me Shane "put 9 in a row on him" in the bar box tournament (I don't know if that means he ran 9 straight or not, sorry for the misquote earlier).

Mark then beat me 5 games in a row at one pocket giving me 10-5 for 20 a game.

Hope that helps.
