Half Joint ?

That is a beautiful cue.

Whats the purpose for the Half Joint ? Does it give some type of hit thats not the norm?

There was a Searing Half Joint on these boards a short time ago, it seemed at the time to be some magic cue. I don't think I ever read what the selling price was, but I assume it was very high.

This cue you have for sale looks great and if the Joint is something special ( don't see many of them ) then someone is going to get a killer player at a resonable price.

Good luck with this sale, I hope the buyer will give some feed back on it.

About the Searing Half Joint cue - I am the person who bought it. I also picked up a Searing Full Joint cue early this summer. Both were priced right for me.
I carry and have played with both Searings a couple of times. The half joint cue is a softer hit and provides me more feedback (if that makes sense).

I have tested an -R- cue with a full joint. Awesome playing cue that plays well up there with other great cue masters. I have yet to play with an -R- half joint cue but I do hear the same things coming from those folks who own both joint types. This cue is an awesome looking piece and I am sure it is a player. Hopefully it will find a good home and someone can confirm that I believe this is an awesome player.

Marcus - good luck with the sale.

THE HALF JOINT IS DESIGNED TO GIVE THE PLAYER MORE FEEDBACK THROUGH THE CUE. THE RINGS ARE SLEVED AND THREADED OVER THE JOINT, AND THE JOINT THREADED TO THE FOREARM. WITH THE TIGHT SHAFT PILOTS PRESSING AGAINST THE FOREARM THROUGH THE JOINT, IT PROVIDES A GREAT FEEL AND SOLID HIT.

I am totally unfamiliar with Jerry's work.

Does he use a weight bolt or is the butt weight natural?

THERE IS A BOLT IN THE BASE TO CONTROL WEIGHT AND BALANCE. I'M NOT SURE HOW MUCH ADJUSTABILITY THERE IS THOUGH.

coming from the standpoint of a guy who likes wood to wood joints, the half joints are the nuts for SS.they have much more feel than the bigger joints.i still like the big pin wood and phenolic joints better but these are close.Gilbert also makes a good one.

Marcus,

Thanks for the quick reply.

YEP,
IT'S A GREAT CROSS BETWEEN THE FEEL FROM THE BIG PIN, AND THE PUNCH FROM THE STEEL PILOTED JOINTS.

Folks, this cue costs well over $1000.00 from Jerry!

I just received my first half-joint cue from Jerry, and I will be ordering several more. The hit on these half-joint -R- cues is really amazing!

This is a steal!!
