To celebrate your b-day, I bought a BRAND NEW cue for you (pssst, Drivermaker put it together in his unheated, damp garage! ). Now you can sell that "OLD" one you have. When I ship it to you, I'll include a check for the "old" one. :D

Yeah, I didn't forget it was my BD! I'm not that senile yet!! LOL!!

Hubby and I just got back from a mini-vacay from Shenandoah National Park - Skyline Drive, God's Country. I just caught up on the mail, the phone msgs, the newspapers, and now that we're back from dinner, I get to go through the electronic stuff!

For those of you who haven't ever been to Skyline Drive, go. It's part of the WPA Park system designed to employ people during the depression years. You can drive along this 105 mile line along the Blue Ridge Mountains and stop at the numerous overlooks to take int he scenery. It's breath-taking. You can park and do some trails - warning, "moderate" means you should be between 20-40 YO and work out 2-3 time A WEEK because they don't include the elevations you go through when they include the mileage on the trail in their literature. We did two falls - South River and Dark Hollow Falls - and got some seriously beautiful pics which I hope to be able to post in the NPR section sometime. We saw lots of shooting stars at night and it was so clear (rare - 10% of the yearly time), that we could see the ridges of the West Virgnia Mountains. WooHoo!! We saw deer (yeah, yipee), but missed spotting a couple of black bears off the trail and outside our room at Skyland Inn where we stayed for a couple nights.

And Eydie, THANK YOU for those eye-opening emails!!! Yowzaaaa!!! I'll have to take my time and savor through all those goodies!!!

Thanks LS!! I've tried to respond to everyone privately but I do know your circumstance. Hey! We saw Mountains from WVA from the Blue Ridge Mountains on both days and nights we were there - it was that clear!! We also saw the Milky Way Galaxy clear as a bell, shooting stars, and missed a big meteorite hitting due north of us.

Dang, you have all those things happening in those mountain areas, dontcha!

Sounds like a great vacation except I don't see any mention of beautiful vistas from the pool table.
Happy BD. Celebrate it to the fullest but don't do anything that I would not do...lol
