I know we usually reserve birthdays on AZ for posters, but I'd like to wish Happy Birthday to Hydred in California. She's a pretty cool person and an asset to the game of pool.

Anyone out that way that runs into her, please tell her to have a great day.

Mike

A Happy Birthday to an uber-hottie and amazingly talented artist!

Gotta love the accent too...

I had not heard of Hydred Makabali, and so I thought maybe some others might like to know who she is, like me. We don't get to hear much about West Coast players sometimes, me being on the East Coast.

Since she is a pool player, known to many, I figure I'd Google her name, and thus, I found her:

I not only like her taste in music with Jimi Hendrix, but she's obviously an unsung hero in the world of pool.

On a thread at the InsidePOOL forum, Hydred is named as one of the sexiest female players alive, ranking higher than Jeanette Lee!

Hydred is even the stuff that bloggers write about, as evidenced by our own AzBilliards Fast Mikie's blog: http://poolshooter.blogspot.com/2008/05/cutest-cueists-hydred-makabali.html

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to a kindred soul! :happy-birthday: :happy-birthday:

:happy-birthday: :happy-birthday: :happy-birthday: To the most beautiful girl that I know! :)

Hydred, you're a real sweetie and beautiful in every way. Have a wonderful birthday. (Guess if I ever visited my MySpace or Facebook, I would have known! :o )

Her pics do her no justice at all. Very very pretty. The kind of girl that takes over a room.

Can some of y'all give us some Hydred stories, so that we can get to know her too? I don't get out to the West Coast much, and inquiring minds want to know more.

She sure does seem to have quite a few fans, and so she must be a wonderful lady, in addition to playing good pool. :)

I did an article on Hydred for On The Wire newspaper a few years back. I'll try and find it.

One tid bit, she is the first female wheelchair player to ever play in a WPBA event and I believe she did this at Viejas casino 4-5 years ago. She is also an incredibly talented artist. I think she has an art show coming up:).

I would love to read the article. :)

Noel Campos is another lovely lady player from California. Must be something good in the water out there that keeps producing these lady champions!

JAM, I'll never forget the time several of us told her to check out this guy from LA, who would be playing Sam (a well-known San Diegan). Of course Sam's opponent was Keith. That day, both Keith and Sam put on an incredible display of top flite poolthat will not be soon forgotten. Hydred was highly entertained by Keith's confidence and continuous banter. I'm sure she'd never seen anyone like him before.

I remember that day. They started off downstairs playing on the table by the women's restroom then Sammy insisted they move and play upstairs because the walls were to close to the table downstairs. Sam started making a strong come back upstairs and got back to even. After Sam was even, Keith insisted that they move back to the table that they were on. Keith fired balls off the back rail against the walls like nothing. Sam was unhappy about having to go back to a table that limited him so much but at the same time he was in awe that Keith could consistantly fire those shots in. Plus, in Sam's mind, Keith is legendary and he would of lost his whole bank roll just to keep playing him.

Hydred has that kind of smile that just lights up a room. When she beams at you, I promise you will melt.

Every time I see her at the poolroom, it seems she has attracted new "fans". There's always a guy or two that wants to "help" her with her game, or just hang out with her between and even during her shots. She never fails to handle these new fans with patience and kindness.

Hydred is one very special lady! Oh and pool related, she has a good stroke too. She has power and can fire those balls in. It may surprise you the first time you see her shoot.

When I tell people that I'm from San Diego, they often ask, "Do you know Hydred?"

I will say to them, "I sure do".

After that, I will get stories about how they are big-time fans of hers, or they will proceed to tell me how much they are in love with her. There seems to be a consistent pattern here. No doubt, Hydred is a very special person. That's why she's one of my favorites!
