This was certainly a memorable birthday for me. For those of you who know me, you know that strange things seem to happen to me on occasion. This weekend was no exception. Let me tell you what happened to me in Rock Hill........
I went up to the GSBT tournament at Breakers in Rock Hill on Saturday. I knew it was Marge's birthday as well, so Shannon had invited me up for Marge's birthday bash and said we could celebrate mine and a couple of others who had birthdays as well. We started drinking at the poolroom after the tournament matches, and I got a pretty toasty as the night progressed, as did most of the party attendees

. The poolroom closed around 3am, so we took the party (at full peak about then) back to the hotel into Shannon and Marge's room. After drinking quite a few shots there, we slowly started to lose the crowd, and we broke the party up around 5 or 5:30am. I had gotten a room with a couple of friends from Greenville, but since it was so late, and also since the room was upstairs

, i decided to just lay down in my Durango for a few hours and then get up to take a shower and head back to the poolroom. That's where the fun started.
At around 8am, I was awakened by the Police banging on my window with a billy club. With little sleep, still half intoxicated, and with the worst hangover ever, I opened the door to see what was going on. The Cop turned out to be a pretty nice guy. He told me that he was just checking on me. It seems that a lady at the hotel was out walking her dog around 7:45am, and had seen me laying in the back of the Durango. She apparently was concerned, because she told Rock Hill's finest that she thought I was dead and that someone should come over to the hotel and check on me to be sure. So that's the reason that the cops came and checked me out. He did tell me that I couldn't be sleeping in the parking lot. Instead of waking my buddies up who had just passed out around 5:30, and with a pounding, hangover headache, I drove down to Burger King for a biscuit and cup of coffee.
It was scary as hell at the time, but in retrospect, I guess it's pretty funny.
Pool is a fun sport, and the GSBT tournaments are always full of surprises.
