Not sure what it is you're buying?
My experience was just like buying off ebay here only it's coming from china so your wait my be longer to receive the item.
Anything I've ever purchased was protected thru paypal.
Not saying you couldn't get scammed and it may have it's challenges at times but I've been satisfied so far.

Lots of knock off counterfeit tips and such is what I saw. I bought some counterfeit Moori tips off there so I could see the difference.

Yea...I've never bought tips there and wouldn't. I'm sure they all come from the same factory.
 
I bought some cheapo pool gloves from there, cheap as in $2 for a dozen. They work but I gave most of them away. Shipping takes weeks.
 
AliExpress is like Amazon with thousands of individual stores. I’ve bought several things from and have had zero issues. Shipping can take from 2 weeks to 3 months in my experience.

Alibaba is for commercial purchases. Where you might work with a vendor to make you qty 500 custom parts of your design. Or buy the vendor’s standard parts but in commercial qty. I don’t have any experience buying from Alibaba.

Yes...it was aliexpress not alibaba that I used.
 
Amazon is king.
A lot of common items you get the next day providing you live near a distribution center like I do in Denver.
Odd ball stuff can take a week or so
