I actually talked to Pete, who works for SlipStic, and here are the procedures he recommended to me for the best results using "SlipStic".:
1. Use the SlipStic cleaner.
2. Then clean the shaft with 1200 - 1600 Grit Sandpaper (optional).
3. Use the SlipStic cleaner again to remove any sandpaper residue.
4. Apply 3 or 4 drops of the "SlipStic" Conditioner to your shaft.
5. Work it over your shaft with your fingers until it's evenly applied for about 3 to 4 minutes.
6. Let the shaft stand for a minimum of 10 to 15 minutes, however, for best results let the shaft stand of 2 or more hours (I did mine the night before league).
7. Use any cotton towel to lightly buff the shaft.
8. Tah-Dah, you're done!!!!!!
Now if you don't have (or want to use) the sandpaper then it's ok to skip that part of the procedure. It still works fine. If you're having a problem finding high grit sandpaper (like I did), then go to this website.:

I paid $11.95 for a pack of 50, 9" by 11", 1500 grit sandpaper.
As I said, I did mine the night before league and on my league night my teammates were so impressed, that I did their shafts also.
I've been using Slipstic since September of this year and I have to say that I love it. But the key is to use it properly. I usually let my shafts sit for at least 6 before I do the final buff.
Also, I play a lot of pool. I play APA and TAP league on Wednesday and Thursday nights, I do a weekly Friday night tournament, and various tourneys on the weekends, and I have a table at home. So I play and practice a lot! With that said, I've just recently had to reapply the SlipStic. I think even with my excessive amount of playing, the SlipStic lasted a little over 2 months, which I think is good.
Here are some places that sell SlipStic.:
