Hi.

I respond to each email I receive and would be happy to respond to yours as well. Applying the product is key to the success you will experience. I can help you with that, please send me your phone # via an email to pete.l@slipstic.com and the best time to call.

I enjoy talking with players and would welcome a conversation with you as well. Thanks.

I use it - it's great stuff. Pete was nice enough to spend some time on the phone explaining it and talking about shaft maintenance.

My experience with the product was great. My hands transpire continually every time I play, and now I'm able to go for weeks without cleaning my cue. Prior to getting slipstic, I had to clean it everytime I played; meaning, almost everyday... a big pain in the neck.:)

You bought it two weeks ago and it took six weeks to deliver? You won't have it for four weeks yet by my math! I recently bought some and shipping was prompt. I'm still testing on various shafts and haven't reached any conclusions about the product. I can vouch for Pete being very helpful in phone conversations however. Talk to him and see if he can help. It seems that there may be problems if you have soaked some other products into the wood and are unable to remove them before applying Slipstic.

it's ok....

I think it's okay not as great as advertised ( but what is) still a good product. Maybe there could be some input from pete on the correct way to apply the product so everyone would be happy.

What we have found out from feedback is that it works best when applied with your fingers. Also, we found that ( at least for the first application) if you leave it on for 2 hours and then very lightly buff it once or twice with any paper or cotton towel it lasts long. When I apply it on my cue shaft I let it sit over night and it lasts much longer and is extremely effective.

Make sure the shaft is clean first. If you do not have our cleaner, then use an alcohol based one. (Limit your use of alcohol because it will dry out the wood and break down the protective oils.)

The key is that this is not a polisher or wax so there is no need to buff hard.

The people I have introduced it to are very happy and we are hoping that a coule of the local rooms will start carrying it soon. Best product of its' type I have ever used.

You're just wrong, Newbie. First of all, Pete is a top-notch professional who runs a first class organization, which just happens to have the best product the pool world has seen in, well, ever.

I personally know a couple dozen players who swear by the stuff, and 2 Cuemakers who now use it on all new cues. One of the CMs still has one of my bottles, after i convinced him to try it.

This product works like magic. The instructions are more then ample - apply, wait, buff. But if you're applying it to some piece of crap, gummy, blue, dirty shaft, then nothings gonna help it.

But Pete is a well-respected member of this community, as well as the pool industry. You're not gonna get any sympathy here, and I highly doubt anyone will jump on your bandwagon and start to bash Pete.

Also, do a search here for either SlipStic or shaft maintenance. You'll be shocked at how many times the product has been mentioned.

You're the unknown here, not Pete. He has a fantastic reputation which is only surpassed by the quality of his product.

Here let me get you a wipe for your nose VonRhett....

No one was bashing pete(wasnt even mentioned until he responded), nor even the product. A customer was giving feedback, which he is entitled to do after buying and trying the product....

Of course, I'm a newbie too so perhaps this forum is one of those places where bad feedback is bashed while anonymous random good feedback is welcomed, and the forum regulars are somehow above all reproach...

Perhaps thats the case as I'm just a newbie and dont know the ways, but really did this thread require you to jump in and "defend" pete or the product?

I have no idea what just happened.

But, anyway, I've used the Slipstic and am not gushing over it. It certainly is possible that there's a better way to apply it and buff it, but following the directions, I felt nothing great.

I have it, and will continue to use it. I think it works well.

Being a perfectionist, and taking great pride and care, I wish we could get a more concise method of application.

To date, I have now read FOUR different methods of application; One on the product itself, one on the website, then the updated method again posted on the website, and now the "finger application" method.

When used according to the directions in the packaging, I also didn't get much benefit from it.

It's a little tricky to apply the drops directly onto the shaft in a measured way, but now I try to get the equivalent of 3 full drops on the shaft and rub this over with two fingers.

I leave it overnight and it seems to bond to the shaft...It loses that wet feel but has a nice dry slippery feel that will last for months if you hardly play.

If you're doing hours a day you may need a few drops each week. My guess is it gradually wears off, but just my guesses and observations.

btw: I find it hard to imagine Pete not responding to this guy, but maybe it came from a distributor who wasn't doing their job properly:confused:

When I first ordered my cleaner and conditioner, Pete informed me that the cleaner could not be sent overnight because it was flammable. I still hadn't received the cleaner after a few weeks and so I emailed Pete about it. He called my about 5 minutes after I sent him the email and apologized for the delay. He sent me another one plus one extra bottle that I received within a few days. Pete is a top notch guy in my book.

A friend let me use his once, it is an amazing product. Too bay it is not for sale where I live. Mueller, and Seyberts where I by all of my Pool Stuff doesn't carry it.

uh... I didn't recieve my cleaner either how about a free lifetime supply of the product????? Just kidding enjoy the holidays.

I Use It & Love It!

Pete has always gone the extra mile with me. He has sent me extra conditioner & cleaner because of the mailing problems with flamable material causing a delay.
SlipStic works better than ANY product I've found or used in 40 years.
The best thing I like about it, is the way it stands up under humid conditions.

I actually talked to Pete, who works for SlipStic, and here are the procedures he recommended to me for the best results using "SlipStic".:

1. Use the SlipStic cleaner.

2. Then clean the shaft with 1200 - 1600 Grit Sandpaper (optional).

3. Use the SlipStic cleaner again to remove any sandpaper residue.

4. Apply 3 or 4 drops of the "SlipStic" Conditioner to your shaft.

5. Work it over your shaft with your fingers until it's evenly applied for about 3 to 4 minutes.

6. Let the shaft stand for a minimum of 10 to 15 minutes, however, for best results let the shaft stand of 2 or more hours (I did mine the night before league).

7. Use any cotton towel to lightly buff the shaft.

8. Tah-Dah, you're done!!!!!!

Now if you don't have (or want to use) the sandpaper then it's ok to skip that part of the procedure. It still works fine. If you're having a problem finding high grit sandpaper (like I did), then go to this website.:

http://www.onlineindustrialsupply.com/

I paid $11.95 for a pack of 50, 9" by 11", 1500 grit sandpaper.

As I said, I did mine the night before league and on my league night my teammates were so impressed, that I did their shafts also.

I've been using Slipstic since September of this year and I have to say that I love it. But the key is to use it properly. I usually let my shafts sit for at least 6 before I do the final buff.

Also, I play a lot of pool. I play APA and TAP league on Wednesday and Thursday nights, I do a weekly Friday night tournament, and various tourneys on the weekends, and I have a table at home. So I play and practice a lot! With that said, I've just recently had to reapply the SlipStic. I think even with my excessive amount of playing, the SlipStic lasted a little over 2 months, which I think is good.

Here are some places that sell SlipStic.:
