Has anyone heard from Tom Hay recently?

beginning to look true. checked the US FB page and no one has gotten tips since then either. even his friends haven't heard a word in over 3mos. just hope he's not lying in his condo having passed. i can't believe there's been no death notice/obit. i've looked and the only way to get one is pay for it. no local newspapers that list them.

Yeah, and the 2 posts that said he died were hit and run posts. No source, no follow up. If you’re going to post that, you’ve got to say something like: “I’m a friend of the family’s and spoke to Tom’s sister. She said he died on Jul 8”.

I just msg'd a guy who had posted on FB about this. This is kinda what he related, that a friend of his had talked to a family member and that person did say he passed sometime in late July. All the signs are there: no email replies, no activity on his webpage or FB page. Finding obits these days is tough, most papers are digital and you usually have to pay a third party outfit to get one. AFAIK all the news is on-line in the Port St. Lucie area. As far as Ultraskin tips are concerned i think its pretty safe to say they are no more. Sad deal. Tom ran a good outfit.

I tried to find an obituary for Tom, but nothing showed up. Hopefully someone who knew the man can come with a definite answer.

Just talked to somebody down there and they said last they heard, he was in hospice but that was months ago.

So, it could be true

I have Family in Port St. Lucie, I've shot pool with Tom and have been to his Home. I ask my Family there to do some digging and, nothing, nada, zilch. Brian.

This is kinda weird. I've msg'd that guy and he acted like he still wasn't sure of what happened to Tom, only that others had said something. Now he's coming out saying he's taking over the business?? Sounds to me like he has known for some time and has played dumb while getting the business up and running. Something strange about this entire affair. I contacted who i'm pretty sure is a daughter and the ex with no replies from either. Bizarre chain of events.

Anyway to me, the SIB tips von Tom are the beste tips to me ever, because these tips perfrom very well in all relevant aspects, do not have any point that would cause troubles in any direction, and the price in comparison to the quality is outstanding. I'm very greatful to Tom and his business. Let's hope ..

i've installed both ultraskins and SIBs and both were popular, and not only for the price. i use them myself too and luckily i have a stash left.
 
Although the UltraSkins sound like a small-company brand, they certainly are popular. Buyers of them at PoolDawg have submitted 118 reviews of the tip. Of the 95 cue-tip items there, Ultraskins get the most reviews except for Kamui. After Kamui and Ultraskins, come ElkMaster tips at 105 reviews.

Richard took over the SIB brand and those have been and still are available. If he is going to now take over the Ultraskin tips there may still be a delay due to legalities and or negotiating with family.

Less than a week ago this Richard/SIB guy was only going by second hand info on Tom's passing and now he's in middle of re-starting Ultraskin sales? Just curious as to why TH's passing has been so 'secret'. I find it hard to believe this richard guy wasn't notified very shortly after it happened. He told me more than once via FB he had not heard from Tom in over 3mos and then he heard thru 'grapevine' he died and now the Ultra. re-start. Odd as hell to me.

Does seem a little odd. That being said, maybe there were some details/legal wrangling that had to be sorted out before he could safely comment on the situation.
Purely speculation on my part.

Maybe he is planning to take over, but was careful to say anything until he knows, everybody else knows.

If somebody dies (in an accident), info/identity is only released, once direct relatives are informed. A while ago a friend passed and they released as soon as they notified the wife here in the US. His family in Turkey read it in the news, before the wife managed to call anybody.
