Just saw this post off of Dennis's Facebook page. All I can say this is why Tonly Robles is the classiest guys in the game today. A true sportsman and a true legend in the way he acts towards others and the game itself. Tony.... You are the greatest :thumbup2:

From Dennis's page:

Just beat Tony Robles 9-6 at 66 my cue ball was froze to object ball when I jacked up shot after the cue ball came back the ref called the foul and Tony told the ref it wasn't a foul and gave me the game...class act...thank you Tony your a true honest friend.

Now that's character.

Tony just solidified me as a 'fan'.

But I thought a player could not over rule a referee's decision, or did the referee change his ruling based on Tony's 'testimony'.

I watched that and was pretty impressed. I don't think a player can overrule a rf but he can forfeit the rack believe

nice

..it's nice to learn of pro players who show sportsmanship and act right during a match; seems like you see so much of the opposite at times.

And you know Tony should be the one who is invited to events around the world and who gets the sponsorship dollars for that and yet he is so often overlooked.

Tony truly is a class act & he's always bee a favorite of mine, one I'm very glad to be able to call a friend!

Tony and Ginky are the pro's I looked up while I was learning this crazy game of pool. I'm proud to say Tony is a friend and also the first person I took lessons from. He taught me more about pool in a few hours than I would have ever learned just banging away. "Thanks again Tony!" Tony is the classiest guy I've ever met, not just in the pool world but in my life.

Tony Robles is one of the classiest guys in the game and a damn nice person to boot!

I have only seen good moves from the guy, I've seen him fade several players whining and never be anything but courteous , I wish I could be that gracious.
I tend to want to smack them with a tire tool or something equaly untraceable:thumbup:
Heres to Tony and being the better man, may you get nothing but good returned to you!

I watched it. I believe the hit was good also and he had perfect shape for the 8. What was the best was that I don't think Tony saw it because the ref was in the way. I think he took Dennis word that it was a good hit. He showed class supreme by giving the game up. Tap tap to Tony he is a class guy and a great player.

Saw it happen.... wasn't a foul at all.

I'm amazed each year a the "quality" of refs in Vegas.

I had a ref watch an opponents shot there a few years ago. Similar close hit / cut. The cue ball just took off about 3 rails through the object ball and the ref said "Good Hit". Both myself and the guy I was play immediately said it was a foul (and about 10 people watching). Ref was adamant that his call was good. My opponent said... "Let's re-rack 'em" .... and we did. Ref was pissed.

I find it hard to believe that there are so few post on this!!! It seems to me that the pool world is so negative about everything!! It truly is sad that a top flight guy like Robles pulls a honest call on the game and the majority have nothing to say to his professionalism!!!

Is that what you all ***** about?? Pros being PROFESSIONAL and honest with their game?? Being a CHAMPION and not a two bit whinny chump???

WOW!!!! I rather hear of a player being a true professional sport and giving his opponent a fair game then full fledged WORLD BEATER taken a soft call to benefit themselves and almost seem like cheating!!!!!

Did the BB players get paid??? WHO GIVES A RATS ARSE!!!!!! How bout giving credit to where its due?? Give props in a positive light to an outstanding human being not only in the pool world but in life in general!! If I could vote anybody to be the WHOLE representative for pool it would be Tony Robles!! Not only is he a solid player but a solid man and a solid person in our community!! I find it very disheartening that this thread isnt 18 pages long with every player on here giving him a blessing of his outstanding sportsmanship!!

I usually never go off about things but my god people.... Give it up and see what REAL POOL is suppose to be like. You know.... How you want SO-CALLED Professionals to be and act like. Guys that have integrity and HEART!!!

I find that most everybody can be pretty nitty and have no idea how much this simple act means to everybody on the whole.

I guess its more important to shoot people down then to raise them up in the respect they have for the game!! Thats what its all about right?? Everybody demands pros to respect the game but when the do (Tony did in all spades!!) its not headline news and you know what???

Thats really sad and pathetic...

MR. TONY ROBLES... I speak directly to you.....

You are by far the most fair... Honest... Friendly... Open and diligent person I have ever met in the pool world. Your passion for pool is unsurpassed and underrated. You go up and beyond not because you have to... Because you want to... Because you love the game and all of the people that share the same passion as you..

If you have never had the pleasure of meeting Tony you have to realize he is the best thing for pool on the whole. He is an AMBASSADOR for us all on how a person should act towards our sport.

I think that every pro should try to follow Tony's lead on the spectrum of things and maybe just maybe... Things would be different..

It is refreshing to hear honesty and integrity being employed in the game we all love. My hats off to you Tony. Maybe I will meet and learn from you one day. Others could learn what it really takes to be a man by emulating you.
