Ya know, I know of some guys who always or usta gamble with people were it was a lock, and wouldnt carry and cash on them. After I started to hear about this, anytime said person would come upto me and ask to gamble, I'd say sure lets play for X amount of money, and say lets post up the money first lol.
I would hear everything from, R U FREAKING KIDDING ME, to them saying how I dont trust them to pay up and this and that, and basically everything short of calling thier mom the town whore!
i think one of the best stories I've heard of a local guy I know is, He went to a tournament outa town with some guys and girls for a handicap tournament, well he ended up gambling with someone, and LOST, and didnt have any cash on him. Well one of the girls who went with them, ended up winning the tournament and he had to borrow all of her prize fund to be able to pay off the guy he lost too.
When my team-mate on my 8ball team told me about this, He's like yea, " he was a lock to beat the guy, thats why he air-barrel'd him " I came back with the, " well if he was a lock to win, then why did he lose? "

I’ve never done it. I’ve borrowed money to play but I always had enough to cover the bet. I’ve seen others do it and played players that lost to me while playing air pool. But I would feel uncomfortable knowing that my pockets were empty.

sounds like air barrelling someone is NOT the smartest thing to do........just my thinking.unless you want to be breathing out of a tube.

My old girlfriend's son was one of the lower forms of life on this planet. He got into a habit of stiffing some of the players at the room I managed.
He thought he could get away with it because I was dating his mother and I managed the room. A few times, the players that got stiffed would come up to me and say they would have beat him up but they had to much respect for me.
After the second time, my reply was, don't let that stop you! Finally, I just barred him.
I always wondered about when I started dating his mother, one of the first things she asked was that I promise her I would never lay a hand on her son. It didn't take me long to figure out why. How many of you parents have installed double dead bolts locks on your bedroom door to keep your kids from stealing from you?
Nice ending to the story. He's been in jail six times now and I believe they put him away for quite awhile this last time on habitual criminal charges.

I played a guy $5 a game 1-pocket with nothing in my pocket. I was down $15 after a while and came back to break even... I told him I was tired and went home feeling like an accomplished air barrel marksman 
If someone proposed or accepted a game with me on which a wager was placed and I won they better either A) have the money or B) be prepared to hand over everything in their posession (clothes, wallet, shoes, etc.,) or risk getting injured. It's one of the reasons I dont gamble.. I carry a gun and I could see someone getting shot when they decided to play tough guy and try to stiff me.

Certainly, quite a few times. And I have big ugly scars on my head/face as proof of each time.

He said he was down to his last $100 and he needed to turn it into $300 to make his rent or be thrown out on the street and he wanted to play some $100 game 8 ball. To make a long story short in the first game he makes no balls but i get a kiss off a ball i wasnt expecting and scratch on the 8 ball- I said "dude that aint right, let's go again" so he agreed to play again and i fumbled around in my pocket like i was looking for the cash and he says- dont worry about it-Pay later-So the next game somehow i lose again and i say one more double or nothing and he agrees but i tell him im going outside for a cigarette.
What a jerk this guy was- he didnt even come out to keep an eye on me and i just jumped into my car and drove away- I looked back and there he was finally outside with his hands in the air like WTF? Hehehe- I cant believe how stupid this guy was.
That was a good one- im real proud of that one.
