That right after you buy a cue there are several that come up for sale that may be better deals, nicer cues, fancier etc,etc.. Is this true are is it just the feeling of parting with money?

I FEEL IT'S JUST THE PARTING WITH THE MONEY. I'VE NOTICED THE SAME THING, BUT I HAVE BEGUN TO REALIZE NOW THAT I CAN'T BUY EVERY CUE I WANT. THE PROBLEM WITH NOT BUYING EVERYTHING, IS THAT ONCE A CUE I LIKE HAS BEEN SOLD TO SOMEONE ELSE, I ALSO GET MAD AT MYSELF FOR NOT BUYING IT. SO I GUESS IT'S A LOSE, LOSE SITUATION FOR ME.

I LOVE CUES, BUT HATE PARTING WITH MONEY.

I think it is always this way in any area of collecting. There is always something else, something better, or more appropriately something new and different. It seems as though a true collector is never satisfied. That is the crazy thing about it.

there'll always be sth better in e world..
or this might show tat u'll nvr get satisfied w anything..
it's like when u c some1 u fancy, aft a while u'll fancy some1 else too!
be contented w ur own achievements n u'll be much happier :p

Just like this quote, I woulda liked to have all the letters in each word so that I could understand perfectly what he said, but with about 2/3rd of the letters I still was able to figure it out... :p

Just be happy with what you have or the deal you made and be happy for the other guy because he got what he wanted too...

Hitler wanted everything as well, It was good that he didn't get it.

lol, no apologies necessary, I was trying to be funny and forgot to use a smiley...:p

It's a cue I've wanted for a long time, so after I get it refinished I'm sure I won't have any regrets.:)

Cues are like women. I think we are always looking but sometimes have to be happy with the one we have at the time. Trading all the time cost money and we may find that it wasn't worth it.

The only difference is with cues we can own more than one.

Book...well said. Much of the joy of cue collecting, etc is in the hunt. Once you get your hands on that cue that was so hard to come by, that joy is over so you move on to the next one, and so on, and so on....

Also...

Life is too damn short, if there is something you want buy it--of course if it is somewhat within your means. Dont go buy a gus and sell your car if you need to drive to work...but sometimes and most often times opportunities come at innoportune times; so you need to take the lumps and just do it--then sort out the pieces later--dont spend so much time window shopping that you miss out on life.
Also if you are consistently cashing out and running out racks, dont sell the cue...I personally sold a cue like that and it has taken me 12 cues to get back around to that "right" feel.
There are meds for OCD as well (Obesessive Cue-buying Disorder)

You could always move to Utah :D :D :D

Update

:D Just an update...I got my cue and I can't stop grinning. I don't even think I'm going to get it refinshed. It took the cue 20 some years to get those battle scars so I'll probably just leave'em. I smille every time I pull it out of the case.
