The original Hawaiian Brian has been back in Hawaii for about 20 years now. Doubt if this is the same guy. He has a pool room over there and was a top knotch player in his day. Would be in his early to mid 60's now & quit playing years ago because of arthritis in his hands. Others may know more. John

You guys are kidding, right?

If this is the guy, and you haven't heard of him, you need to get out more.. LOL..

He is the only "Hawaiian Brian" I have heard of, and if this is him, he can hardly be considered as a "road player", since EVERYONE knows who he is. Kinda hard to stay undercover if you are responsible for shaping US Open winner Rodney Morris' game.. :D

Well the one they were telling me about... they said he looked to be in his mid 30's........ Might be another one....... Thanks Guys!

Yeah...that is "The" Hawaiian Brian. As far as I know he is far from his thirties so this other guy must be just using the name.

It makes me wonder why that name???

Was he oriental? From or has ties to Hawaii?

I dunno....but now I'm interested in finding out who this guy is...LOL!:D

Or, Someone Without Enough Imagination To Make Up Their Own Nickname

I think the younger one is Hawaiian Punch Brian.

Doug
( because he's always in dead punch )

More info please....lol.....I'm still not making the connection with the name?

Why the "hawaiian" part? Is his name Brian too?

Someone gotta have more info....:(

They told me he looked ...well....... Hawaiian........that is all I know......... also he has a very very very strong 8 ball game

Never heard of him. I only know of the original one and only "Hawaiian Brian" that others mentioned already. Every pool player in Hawaii would know Hawaiian Brian. I too wonder why would anyone want to assume such a recognizable name like as Hawaiian Brian?

Sounds like a guy I know from Maui he plays jamm up his name is Steve I doint recall the last name. I took him around the Bay Area for a while 10 years ago. He goes to las Vegas for a tournament. He told me when Rocket Rodney was in jail anyone coming to Hawaii they would call him to fill in for Rodney. He plays with an old Tad cue. I havent seen him in atleast 8 years.

I know, it would be like if you were on the road and walked into a poolroom and said "Hey, I'm Earl Strickland and I wanna play some"

Sounds like another Hawaiian player "borrowed" that name. You better play good if you want to use Brian's name. :D
