I just heard from a good friend and just talked with Tim Scruggs wife, Kathern. Tim's being operated on at this moment. A quadruple-by-pass.
Please keep Timmy in your thoughts and prayers. Can't find a better person than Tim. He's the best.
god bless you Tim

My prayers go out to the Scruggs family.

The Scruggs name enjoys a sterling reputation not only in the State of Maryland, where Tim Scruggs lives, but Scruggs cues are popular worldwide because of the fine craftsmanship and attention to detail. The Scruggs Tour was a popular regional stop for many players in days gone by, his way of giving back to the pool community.

I see him at every single major event that I attend, a gentle man always brandishing a smile. When I catch his glance sitting in the bleechers with his buddies, I say, "There's my Baltimore Contingency," and he cracks up. :p

Here's a picture of Tim Scruggs taken at the 2005 Super Billiards Expo in Valley Forge a few months ago.

Blud - met you for the first time at a tournament at "Top Cats"? in San Marcos maybe 15 - 17 years ago...you are a piece of work man!...my thoughts and prayers are with Tim and his family...he is truly one of the greats!...please keep us informed when you hear something.

tim is an ok guy. he read my inquiry about old yellow micarta over at rsb two years ago, and sent me two plugs for free out of the goodness of his heart.

i have never forgotten his gesture

Good luck to Tim, whom I respect deeply.

With apologies for going a bit off topic , I would like to suggest that the thread title was a poor choice. Some of us only check out some of the threads but read all the thread titles. Based on the thread title, one enters this thread with apprehension, expecting to read that Blud is having heart trouble. Of course, this news is just as upsetting. I'd suggest that "Scruggs Having Heart Surgery" would have been a better thread title.

Anyway, back to what really matters. Tim's a great craftsman and a quality guy. I first had the pleasure of meeting him in 1997. My best wishes to him, his family and his friends.
