I play a weekly bar tourney..who has a good crowd of younger people. Almost all of them are young guys and only handful of young ladies. I met a gal by the name of Jenny who absolutely loves pool.
The first night i met her she was actually very focused and made most of her shots. She's better than your average bar banger but is one of the sweetest young ladies you'll ever meet. Always smiling and loves to watch better players.
Week after week i talk to her to find out how serious her interest level in pool. At times she reminds me of myself several years back. Eager to learn and always happy to play but too proud to ask for help.
With Christmas coming up I asked her what was on her Christmas pool list and she was embarrassed but eager to tell me that all she wanted was her own pool stick to play with.
Although we chat i'm not sure what her financial situation is exactly. Just enough to realize buying a pool cue is not on her agenda.
Unfortunately my situation doesn't allow me to give her a pool cue but i wanted to ask the AZB community to see if any of you were able to celebrate the giving spirit.
Obvious the pool cue does not have in any particular condition but i do ask that it is straight.
Even if you don't have an extra cue laying around...anything to get Jenny started would be greatly appreciated. A case or tip tool..maybe an extra glove.
If the shipping is reasonable i would be able to help in that area.
If she recieves anything i think it would be a tremendous start for a young and eager female player.
Of course I will either have her contact you or send her your contact thru facebook or email to make sure she gets what she's wishing for this christmas.
Sincerely,
Doug
