the palm of my left (bridge hand) is blue

maybe i need a different vaccuum
what do you recommend
i use masters chalk

Check the temperature of your hand....
...the blue might be a result of shooting too many balls that are froze.:sorry:

Brush it vigorously . Use a pool table brush to get the chalk out of the cloth.

All that does is push the chalk dust under the cloth.

You need to vaccuum and then wipe the table down with a damp cloth.

If you have ever pulled the cloth off a table that has had the same cloth for years with heavy use and only brushed, its amazing how much chalk dust gets under the cloth.

What color is your cloth. Are U sure it's chalk. I chalk before every shot & have never had that problem with my table.

I have had that problem with bar tables that have gotten wet. It might be the dye in the cloth.

A common malady suffered by pool players, bbb. It is caused by the lack of circulation in the bridge hand.
When the bridge arm, as it were, is stretched out for long periods of time it tends to stress the brachial artery, reducing blood flow to the bridge hand.
The cure, of course, is to stop playing pool for a couple of months.
I myself, had a chronic "orange" hand. That was from eating too many Cheetos and watching porn...well, you know the rest of the story. :)

cleaning the cloth

I am not a table mechanic
so i dont know if i am doing it right or wrong.

i vacum then i use upholstry cleaner the spray stuff in a can.
i really scub the cleaner in to the cloth then i vacum. wait 1 hr and vacum again and i place a fan on the table to help it dry.

right wrong or indifferent this what i do and it seems to work for me .

best of luck
mmike

I have heard wiping your table down with a damp cloth stretches your cloth out really fast

I have found a little vinegar works well mixed in water. Davey Crockett showed me this and said it was the only way he cleaned his tables at his poolroom.

I have played on a table that is cleaned regularly with chalk off and have not had a blue hand yet. I have read from other members here that they use a microfiber cloth and rub it real fast to create static electricity to attract the chalk dust.

What he said about the micro fiber towel.. works for me.

Other than, vacuuming, and brushing, have you looked into the Simonis X-1?

I used the X-1 on a table that had never seen a vacuum cleaner.
It had been brushed regularly.
Cleaned the table every time I played on it, followed by wiping down with a slightly damp microfibre cloth.
There would be considerable chalk on the surface that was picked up by the damp cloth.
When you played you still got a blue palm.
The X-1 gradually pulled all the chalk out of the cloth.
After a few months, the cloth was clean, no more blue palm.
Cheaper than vacuum cleaner and a couple of brushes, but not an instant cure for the problem. :D

The main virtue of the X-1 over the microfibre towel mentioned in the previous post is that the X-1 is easier to use.

Seriously, Chalk Off is the answer. You need something damp to grab the chalk powder and hold on to it. The spray provides the right level of dampness, and the foaming action seems to help lift it from the cloth. It dries fast and doesn't seem to have any negative effects. I wish everyone used it.

I found the opposite with any spray stuff or a damp cloth....
..the cloth dries hard and takes the life out of a spinning ball.
I feel the answer is to vacuum more often....
...if you play on a table every day, your bridge hand buries the chalk into
the cloth and the vacuum can't budge it.
I also use the Simonis x-thing for a quick clean, but vacuuming is the best.

green chalk

Either use green chalk (no more Blue stain) or lots of talk,
