Help identifying a cue

Does anyone know what kind of cue is pictured? It's not TAD since the cue does not have the TAD logo. It does have a serial number under the rubber bumper.

I'm no expert, but it could be a Tad that had the buttcap replaced. It also might
be a Tad Tribute cue, which I've seen a few of here over the last few years. I'm
leaning towards the latter. So, what thread is the joint?

I'll check the joint thread. I did see a TAD tribune cue but it was also signed by the cue maker. I did check with Fred Kohara and he said the serial number under the bumper matched a birdseye maple cue made in April 81, but he did not indicate whether the cue had the TAD logo. Thanks for your reply.

Some time back, Superior Cues had some Tad tributes by Carmeli that I don't think were signed. Some looked just like this one.

Couldn't figure out the exact thread but attached couple of pictures.

Looks like a TAD to me. TAD did not start using a logo until 1983. If the serial number matches a BEM TAD1M made in 1981, then that corroborates the story. Joint pin is also correct, TAD liked to shave his 5/16-18 joint pins in that manner during that time.

Can you show a picture of the bumper, bumper screw, and shaft pilots?

I believe it is Tad as well. His earlier cues didnt have the logo. I had one myself. Good playing cue. You just need to send it to them to get authenticated. The real decision you have to make is whether to get the logo put on the cap so you dont ever have this problem again. Keep it original or get the logo? Personally, I like having the logo there. Then there is nothing to dispute. I would have it done.
