Help Me ID My Schon

So I've got this Schon that I've had for at least 15 or so years. I bought it because I liked the way it looked but I never knew as much as even the model number, wood, or anything else about it, like I said, I just thought it was cool looking. I have seen a few that look sort of like it on the Schon web pages, archive pages, the collection of Schons pages (though I'm sure I haven't seen them all), but there is always a difference. Would anyone be able to identify this model of Schon or direct me additional resources where I might find it.

Looks like that pre-dates their catalogs. E-mail the pics to Evan over at Schon. He can give you all the details on it.
 
I purchased this "as new" Now, I don't know it's age but I am the first owner.
How old would you think it is?
Also, from other threads here I know the vertical Schon on the shaft indicates something different from the horizontal Schon 13,, and I seem to recall reading something about the name on the butt written in gold as opposed to black. Anything?

Yes, it's 93, and I think it was the only year they used the ACME pin.


I don't know Schon models so I can't help in that matter. Sorry.

Here's a closeup of the joint, does this look like the 93 one that's been referred to?

Yes that's the '93 pin, and there is basically no difference, but since yours is more rare, I would expect it would be more desirable. The shaft definitely would sell for $10-20 more than the logo-on-the-wood Schon shafts.

Looks like an SL-2 to me maybe. Definitely a classic Schon!

I had the exact same one that I sold a few months ago. Everything that has been said was what I could find on it as well. I never came up with a model number.

After over a month I have finally heard back from Schon regarding my cue:

Your cue is a Schon C3. We made that cue exclusively for a distributor call Cuestix Int. out of Colorado from 1996 to 1999. Made around 30 cues of that model. There retail at the time was $XXX we would charge around $XXX to make that cue today. The woods are cocobolo bottom and points on a birdseye maple forearm. The inlay work in the bottom is ebony

A couple of additional questions, or more like clarifications, I know everyone pretty much that responded to my original post (many thanks, BTW) seemed to be certain this cue was likely to have been produced in 93 due to the pin and the horizontal 'SCHON 13' logo on the shaft so I'm curious about that, and I'm having a very difficulty time finding any reference to a 'C' series of Schon cues although I do think I've seen one (C7?) on the internet somewhere, and I'm reasonably certain, maybe, that the cue was purchased no later than 95, but it's been a few years so I may be mistaken and now I'm just not sure. Mystery Solved? probably...
So, any other opinions, ideas?
