Help!!!!!!!! My head is going to explode

When I woke up this morning I got a PM saying "thanks for the green". I seldom rep people so I was curious what I had said, cause I can't remember giving rep to this guy lately.

Obviously it was a PM sent to the wrong person, because it was about aiming-systems, BHE and pivot, things that I have no idea what is and how it works. And to be honest, I have no interest learning it either.

Anyway, when reading this PM I just couldn't understand one sentence. It was unbelievable, and I wonder if we are playing the same game...

As I said, I don't understand the message so there is a chance that I am now publishing sensitive and private info, but I'll take a chance.

Can anyone translate the following from BHEnglish to English?

Tnx

Also thanks for the message with the green.
I enjoy you threads and POV.

As you know, there is much mystic surrounding this CTE, but I think that is may be useful - if I can get it to work.

On paper (Acad) as I move the OB farther away, on a thin 90 deg. cut, the CB will miss the OB edge.

I conclude that if the OB is father away, then the amount that I offset of the cue shaft tip must be less (from the centeer of the CB) than for a close up shot.

It doesn't hurt to double check the same shot with different systems - so I persist with this. There seems to be a couple of variables with this system with tiny adjustments.

I am a double the distance shooter and also use the ghost ball when the CB and OB are very close together.

I would like to understand what you mean by the arch - the angle of the pivot changes when the OB is farther away? I concur.

I would like to understand what you mean about the 1/2 ball offset.

Thanks again.

This is hysterical!

I don't enter aiming threads but I am familiar with BHE and I knew all of the acronyms used in the message. They lost me towards then end with the "double distance" and "arching".

If someone had sent this to me I would have been perplexed and probably would have shared it much like you have, lol. I find the clearly obvious mistake of the person sending the PM quite comical for some reason. Maybe because it is so early in the morning.

Did you reply? :grin-square:

I haven't replied but was about to write a reply in norwegian, guess it would make as much sense to him as his message to me :)

Roy. You must be extremely stupid.

The other night I had a blast, spending four hours pivoting my cue half a tip clockwise to the left, using exclusivly BHE. My game jumped at least two balls

LMAO CLASSIC! YOU have to do that. Just imagine the look on their face when trying to figure out what the heck they just got in the PM box. LOL, the same look (or better) that you had when reading their message. :rotflmao1:

Classic example of someone that employs the peyote system. I don't understand why people have such a problem correlating.

I tried some of the stuff today, and you know what, it really works!!!

or... nah... just kidding... I still don't understand what it means :D

Don't you know if you don't understand any of that then you are not supposed to make any balls at all

I've discovered the true secret. Aim straight through the center of the cue ball at what would be the center of the ghost ball. Then pivot 90 degrees in the same direction four times in a row. You end up right on line. (But you may have disturbed a few other balls in the process.)

A friend of mine tried to teach me BHE at the DCC last year, and I was like wtf - are you from another planet??? What? Why? Why?? Why???

I guess I just don't get it, and am just blessed with enough luck to do a runout every now and then :)

Hi it's me.
I accidently sent you a PM after I got a Greenie from another poster on the "CTE aiming thread" - I can't imagine how that happened except that I was also looking at your thread - Borana Andoni vs "omgwtf".

I never was exposed to nor never cared about techniques taught by pool instructors - back in the day, 50 years ago, it was "Don't feed the fish".

Now with the Internet and AZ Forums, I am exposing myself to as much as I can digest or stand - including instructors teaching how to shoot pool using various methods like Center To Edge (CTE). I won't bore you with what it is and how it's supposed to work.

I posted what I thought it was and questioned the validity of what was being explained - that was up to 75% of the method with the last 25% being a secret - why you need to take lessons.

I then got a response with a Greenie giving me some hints as to what I was missing about "arch" and "1/2 ball offset", and as you can see from my errant message.

The thread kept on developing with more posts and posters piling on, and so I am getting the answers as to what these terms represent.

It's kind of like your thread, where the posters want to know how good Borana or OMGWTF shoot so that they can predict a winner, sweat or bet.

It's all an amusing pass time for me like discussing Global Warming with Jay a couple of years ago LOL.:)

Thanks for starting this thread for I don't have to PM you to thank you for the Greenie.

Here's one for you:
