Help on bar box info.

I have an opportunity to pick up a Kim Steel bar box. Does anyone know how they play. How does it compare to a Diamond or Valley as far as playability. How about sturdiness. I have played on Diamonds and Valleys but never had the opportunity to play on a Kim Steel. THNX
 
I hear they are built like tanks and they are one of the biggest pains in the @$$ for table mechanics! Never played on one myself
 
I will be interested to hear the responses, I have an older Accustats from the 80s or 90s that is a tournament at "Guys and Dolls Billiards". It is a 1 pocket tournament, and Buddy Hall as well as every other pro doing commentary or interviews say how the Kim Steel 9ft tables they are playing on are the best tables in the world.

Are Kim Steel tables still around and that great? They seem like a GC3, but I am not too knowledgeable in that stuff.
 
You should hurry up to the Pool Loft in New Lenox Zig before it closes. They have one and you could play on it then decide. :thumbup:

I've never (I don't think) played on a Kim Steel BB, but if you put this in the Mechanic's Forum you will probably get some good info on them. Johnnyt
 
I for one...along with several of my mechanic friends...WON'T work on them. As far as I'm concerned...they're disposable pool tables;)

I heard that they are no longer around. I also heard that the bar box is built like a tank and weighs just as much but, haven't heard anything about how it plays yet.

I have played on those tables. I remember whuppin up on Easy-e there.
And I remember him whuppin on me too!.

Tables play nicely. I would describe it as heavy, or solid as compared to a GC.
More like a Gabriels or Diamond.
